Pretty infuriating for any opponent when Isner's serving that well.

Way to be, Eph 3!

I have not seen his match but this is a good result for Fabio. Until he broke into the top 20, he usually was a ineffective player on HC. Now he is getting deeper into the larger events on HC as well, which means he is holding his ground overall.
Same happened at the AO, I am hoping he will continue to improve.

Agreed. His problem, in my opinion, is that he completely pholds when he plays the big guns, regardless of the surphace. Granted, he isn't as good as they are. But, still...Don't make a mockery of yourselph!

Phor real. Show some phighting spirit phor phuck sake, Phabio! :p

Depends on the spectators. Here in Miami I am sure they want John to prevail, is their lone reliable competitor, no matter how boring is to see him play.

Ah yeah, I mean obviously they're happy he won but who enjoys watching, ace, ace, ace, ace, opponent's service game, Isner's service game: ace, ace, ace, ace... :s

If I paid money to watch a display of aces all I could say would be...

Why are you even watching? Unless Isner is playing Rafa, I'd rather eat glass than watch him play.

Wawrinka v Dolgopolov tomorrow should be interesting. Refreshing streamhunter here it's showing Berdych v Isner. Did Sousa pull out so and Berdych got a walkover?

Sorry, forget that. I see Berdych simply won a quick match. Didn't think it was over already :p

Those who are rooting for him. Trust me, there are Isner fans out there, but they have not found out about this forum yet...

I believe I have always said I like John Isner. Anyway, I'm happy for his win tonight. He does well in US events. :)

There is no reason for him not to do at least on other HC events around the world equally well, this remains a mystery for me

^ Exactly. With his serve he should be kicking ass like this.

Tomorrow's schedule, all 8 ATP matches are on to qualify for the QF:

http://www.atpworldtour.com/Scores/schedule.aspx?EventId=403

The lone low ranked player left in the draw is Benjamin Becker, the LL who replaced Delpo, ranked 93.
He plays Milos, who has a good opening to enter into the QF.

Becker played well against Harrison. Surprised he hasn't done better in his career. Has days when he looks very good.

Well, then, behold the mystery of US men's tennis. The other mystery is Big John's occasional good results on European clay. If you can explain all that to me, you get to be the new US DC captain. :puzzled

^ His serve ?

Not just that. Slow clay gives him time to move to a ball, which helps him. Still, it's a weird combo.

Yeah true 'cos even if someone returns his shots he gets extra time to tee off on his FH which is a big shot when it's working and he needs all the help he can get as his movement is hardly world class.
