^^^ Bob - I appreciate reading your observations regarding Murray.

Thanks Nehmeth!

By the way, I just realized today that Andy is Novak's Quarter, and then has a possible Roger semi, and Rafa final. I don't see Andy repeating. Meanwhile Rafa looks like he has an easy path to the finals. We'll see if he can finally get the Miami monkey off his back.

The highest ranked player Andy has defeated since he came back from surgery is Gilles Simon ranked 23.
To beat suddenly 4 players ranked in the top 11 back to back would be a big step up.

Guess I should've known better than to think that Lajovic would serve it out. Last I saw, he was serving at 5-4 in the third.

Lajovic is very inexperienced. It makes sense for him to have butterflies in guts. He has had only 1 single ATP level victory until Miami.

Exactly, which is why I should've known better. I hope he can re-group and win.

6-1, 6-2 is a great scoreline for Milos. He must have returned well today.

So you have not seen him? OK, here are some highlights:
Aces as many of his second serve as the first, they were spinning away from GGL;
Steadier than anytime before of his BH strokes, including 2 winners at least, one of them a DTL,
He put many more returns in play than usual,
5 volley winners of 10 approaches (he missed a few easy ones, so here there is room to get a lot better).
Overall I am pleased and more optimistic than ever before about his improvement (Thanks Ivan!)

Caveat: GG Lopez did not have his best day

I was not able to catch any of the Milos match Herios. My boss was saying something about work coming first or whatever, anyways, I was not listening.:nono . Thanks for the synopsis.

Never really noticed till tonight but Wawrinka hits his 2nd serve really quite hard. Not quite as hard as Gulbis but hard all the same. Looking forward to Nadal v Istomin. Both in form and Istomin can be pretty good when he wants to. Hopefully they both play well.

Novak, are you watching? That's how you volley! Sweet volley from Roger-Vasselin but then a clumsy shot to give Stan match point.

Nice way to win it. Good final point by Wawrinka and nice and cordial at the net.

Mini-Fognini explosion when Layhani gave him a language warning. What a character.

That's what you get for hitting the overhead the wrong way, open court and hit it right back to your opponent. Clever boy :nono

The perfect start for Rafa. Not so much for Denis.

Rafa with intimidating start on Istomin. And he's stepped in and buried a BH DTL…always a good sign!

Hehe, those slice forehands, poor Istomin.

Looks like they are going to get him a well earned bagel :D
