I said Ebden would be lucky to win another 2 games from 3-0 down in set 2 and it looks like he won just 1 more. Pathetic.

Why the hell didn't you play like that the last 2 sets, Ebden?! Left it a bit late lol! Was a nice point at least to save the first mp. Terrible match.

I think Andy's looking better, and finding his rhythm and mojo.

Anyone would look good against Ebden the way he played those last 2 sets save for a handful of points.

Just tiny glimpses of my boy out there. He won and that's all I care about right now. Nearly 4am here so bed for me. Night all.

Upset Alert? Hewitt plays Nadal.

Hewitt has 4-1 H2H against Nadal on Non-clay surfaces.

Hewitt seems to be up and down (as usual) this year. He was good in
Brisbane and bad in AO.

He was bad in IW. So, as per the cyclical up and down rhythm, he
should be up now in Miami.

^ I guess we'll see how his biorhythms match up to Nadal's. Aren't you the guy who thinks that Nadal won 4 RGs, then lost one then won 4, so he's due for another one? We could also compare their horoscopes. Lleyton won their first 3 match-ups on HCs…all before Rafa was 19. I'll give you that Rusty looks less than rusty, and Rafa is looking a little more so, but given the way they both play, I wouldn't be licking my chops just yet.

I just read the news on Twitter that Del Potro will withdraw from the tournament. He just announced it on his Facebook page.

According to Argie press, he could undergo a wrist surgery next monday and be out for the rest of 2014...let's see if it's true or not but it was unfortunately expected. Sad news anyway

Del Potro could be out for the rest of 2014?! Please tell me that is not true. Del Potro has just been riddled with an injury that'll never go away.

Hewitt vs. Nadal should be fun to watch. I can't smell an upset or anything, but it is a match-up we don't see a whole lot of.

If Rafa wins, but plays like Half-Court Ralphie to huff his way through in 3, he's not going far in this event. If he's fierce and violent, hosing down after a straight sets battering of Hewitt, I'll be more confident going forward...

^ Ask Kvitova. She's the GOAT at winning an easy first set, often 6-1, 6-2 or even 6-0, losing the 2nd by the scoreline she won the first and then winning the third by the same scoreline as set 1. Baffling.

I love watching Donald Young. Nothing quite like a combination of arrogance, hubris, and overbearing parents to make a mess of a tennis player.

I think Isner has decided to just sit back and wait for Donald to self-destruct. Because it happens every.time.

Donald Young wins a tie breaker against tie break titan. Mmm. Interesting.

This is so sad, if true. The last time he had surgery, it almost took him three years
to regain his original form and fitness. If he is going to need another three years to
come out of the left wrist surgery, essentially his career will be over.
