Naomi Osaka with a 23 consecutive win defeats Elise Mertens 63 63 makes the Q/Fs in Miami for the first time in her career.
lol! apparentlyI like Sakkari's game so much. She and Tsitsipas both have that casual side-slap forehand crosscourt. Is that a Greek thing?
Ons won the 2nd set 6-0 they have just started the final set.....I have split screens on both matchesMy TV not showing Jabeur v. Sorribes Tormo, which is a shame because I could see where that could be a battle...crafty v. will. Spaniard won the first set, OJ up a break in the 2nd. Tennis Channel prepping for Mugu v. Bibi. I'm thinking fitness favors Garbiñe.
I only have scores on the Ons one, but Sorribes Tormo up 3-0 in the 3rd? What goes on??Ons won the 2nd set 6-0 they have just started the final set.....I have split screens on both matches
Sorris Tormo won the match 64 06 61.....another roller coaster match,Ons in the 2nd set found her game, with slices, drop shots etc,but to me ran out of steam,in the final set, very humid conditions,Tormo had more energy, imposed her game and won,she does make her opponents work for every point.I only have scores on the Ons one, but Sorribes Tormo up 3-0 in the 3rd? What goes on??
Main thing was she could not get a 1st serve in,Garbine pounced on that with good returns.Bianca is used to playing 3 set matchesLong 7th game, and Garbiñe gets it back on serve. I think fatigue is going to become an issue for Bibi.
Bianca is playing the 'In form player at the moment with match wins so far this year' in Garbine, when you consider this is Bianca's 3rd tournament back,I think it is more than interesting.Early break to Andreescu. Hard-fought, though. This isn't a classic match, but it's pretty interesting.
Did you see that fhand Bianca played down the line without even looking at it? reminds me of Rafa lol!Even looking hurt, Andreescu is amazing. I hope she comes back fully fit soon to do exactly what she's got in her.
Garbine played a clean first set and half then UFE kept creeping into her game. Her serve was okay it was just her opponent who returned it well.Garbiñe has a few things to think about. One is that Andreescu has more weapons, and she could use more. Another is: if you just going to be big serve and hit hard, make more serves, and stop missing when you hit hard.
