Personally, I don't see anything wrong with having a sports psychologist to help you. What you do on the court is still all you.
I never said it wasnt..though I dont think it is needed full time that is my opinion.

After a wobble, and not her best, but Swiatek gets it done! We get the final we all want, I think: Osaka v. Swiatek, it is!

Well done to Iga defeating Jessica 62 75....a much closer contest in the 2nd set.Iga has to be able to close matches out, though she showed she dosent like to lose a point,I love her footwork,if you watch her feet she is constantly makes changes, which is just great to watch.

Jess you fought hard in the 2nd set, just some errors at the wrong time cost you, though well done for making the semis.

Some idoits in the crowd calling out and play had to be stopped....( thank goodness Osaka wasn't playing :)
Umpire called security
Point being Pegula had love 30 on Swiatek serve and Jess loss momentum early on Swiatek's serve
It was a little bigger than that. Jess was about to receive 2nd serve when the outburst happened and the umpire awarded Iga 2 serves. Completely changed the complexion of the match (not that I thought Jess would win the match, but she definitely had chances to get that set).

Just some great stats for Iga Swiatek who continues to impress

16 straight wins
1st woman since 2016 to reach both IW and Miami finals in the same year
5th ever to reach both IW/Miami finals before turning 21
Iga has the chance to become the 4th woman to complete the Sunshine Double

Just looking forward Iga's favorite surface is clay :)

That was very nice to see! Been years since I've paid attention to doubles; Hingis era maybe! It took me back! Will have to catch other SF! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Ladies Singles Final, Saturday April 2nd.....1pm local time

Iga Swiatek (2) vs Naomi Osaka H2h Osaka 1-0

Last time these 2 players met was in the Rogers Cup 3 years ago in RD 3 when Osaka was No 2 and Swiatek was a qualifer and ranked No 65,.Osaka winning 76 (4) 64. A lot has changed in 3 years.

3 woman have won the Sunshine Double Graf,Clijsters and Azarenka
Iga would be the fourth and the youngest if she wins.

Iga has won 16 straight matches and hasn't dropped a set ernroute to the final, though the only player to push Iga was Pegula in their semi final match, which Iga won the 2nd set 7-5,though Iga did have to serve for the match twice.

I was impressed with Osaka in her semi final match, when she was down a set to Bencic, who played flawless tennis in the first set,she didnt panic, just buckled down and won, another great stat for Osaka was she fired down 18 Aces in that match.Osaka's serve has been 'on song' all tournament and it could be a telling factor in tomorrow's final.

Iga has variety in her overall game, she can move her opponents around the court and we have seen she can absorb big hitters.
Iga will again have to absorb the big flat hitting of Osaka and will have to be able to return her 1st class serve.

Good luck to both player's, as I feel this is an interesting match up!
