Just looking at some matches Wednesday 22nd March,

Bianca Andreescu vs Emma Raducanu, the winner gets to play Maria Sakkari 7th seed, next match.Kskate rightly pointed out, both players need to get their ranking up so they don't have these difficult early rounds.
Sloane ( Scone ) Stephens vs Shelby Rogers I wonder which 'Stephens' will show up on court
Jil Teichmann vs Karolina Muchova, who had to play qualifying here in Miami, she made the QFs last week at IW, lost in 3 sets to the IW champion Elena Rybakina.
Linda Noskova vs Lucia Bronzetti, this is a winable match for Linda
Taylor Towsend vs Anna Bondar

Irina Begu holds off Alex Eala 6-2, 7-5. Eala has a lot of promise, but needs to work on her serve and not getting broken. She could really put Filipino tennis on the map.

Thanks, I will look out for Eala next time she plays,

I hope those watching the Miami event got a view of the Kaia Kanepi-Camila Giorgi match. Giorgi winning in a third set tiebreaker after blowing a 5-0 third set lead, but what else is new? Kanepi, so great on the serve, 19 aces and only 7 double faults. It was a shame someone had to lose.

I wasn't happy to see Giorgi's father in the stands, never a good sign once he appears. I found it surprising Giorgi did not shake the umpire's hand, don't know if anyone knows why or maybe Camila was rushing to get to a dinner reservation. Either way, 3:27 minutes on court, the match tied the record for the longest match of this season in a main draw.

I never knew just how good Kanepi could be, at 37 it amazes me she has come back from so many injuries and played at such a high level. Next up for Giorgi - Azarenka. Hope she'll have some gas left in the tank because those two ladies must have been exhausted.

Iga Swiatek has withdrawn from Miami and BJK due to a rib injury she sustained at IW
LL Julia Grabher will replace Swiatek at the top of the draw,
Iga plans to come back in the clay season

Karolina Muchova had no trouble at all in her match against Jil Teichmann, defeating her 60 62 ( she is one to watch in Miami, making the QFs at IW last week.,hopefully she can remain injury free)
Linda Noskova moves into the 2nd rd with a straight sets win over Bronzetti 63 64

One of the main things I love about Bianca's Andreescu's game, when she uses her variety, Bianca's is not a natural power hitter although she is capable of generating power
Andreescu 1st set 63 over Raducanu
Raducanu 2nd set 63, Andreescu serve let her down in the 2nd set, DF, Emma broke, served out the 2nd set 63

Something tells me this goes three sets but I am not able to watch the match. I like both players, but Emma just a tad more.

You are right, going 3 sets, Emma won the 2nd set 63, Bianca serve let her down, it has been a highly competitive match so far

Bianca to me was a bit too passive in the 2nd set, also her serve let her down at crucial times
Bianca more aggressive in the final set gets the break, though she hard to work hard to achieve it leads 5-2 3rd set

Too bad for Emma but Bianca is a good one and I hope she can slide past the Greek.

I should have posted this before, the Andreescu v Raducanu match
Interesting comment from Martina Navratilova on Emma Raducanu, Martina said Emma can really improve, but her father is micromanaging too much.

What does tis mean for the rankings? She's losing 1000 points here and she didn't defend IW last week
