He flubbed his lines at the end of that tie-breaker.Come on Thiem . Hit the ball deeper

He can't. It's a confidence thing. You can just see it. He's way behind the baseline and instead of moving up to return, he actually goes backwards. Now he's in a huge hole in 2nd set. 0-3Come on Thiem . Hit the ball deeper
Clearly. As you said above, it's about confidence, and he doesn't have any. Not in his shots, not in his serve. Sonego was getting tight in the 2nd, and Dominic couldn't take any advantage...not even win back the one break he should have. Sad to watch, tbh. Most of this is mental. He needs a shrink to travel w/ him until he gets his mojo back.
Dom is now 1-8 in 2023 he goes to the clay at Estoril Open
It is sad to see, Jim Courier and Mark Petchy thinks Dom should go back to play some challengers to rebuild his confidence, though Dom has had played challengers when he first came back on tour, he didnt fare well.Challenger circuit is very competitive, just ask Berrettini who recently played a challenger at Phoenix and lost in the QFsIt's crazy how a player who used to trash Djokovic over and over (won 5 of their last 7 meetings) has fallen so deep and can't win matches anymore... Sad to see...
Yep. He has lost all confidence in his FH.two years ago Thiem beats this lower ranked player like a drumHe can't. It's a confidence thing. You can just see it. He's way behind the baseline and instead of moving up to return, he actually goes backwards. Now he's in a huge hole in 2nd set. 0-3
Awful score. He showed some signs of life last Autumn and it was reasonable to think that he will improve his ranking by now and reach top 50, but no one imagined he will be this bad.Dom is now 1-8 in 2023 he goes to the clay at Estoril Open
In his post match presser, Dom said he was looking to play some challengers to help build his confidence. He admitted the TB loss destroyed him.Awful score. He doesn't realize it's not just a loss of confidence. It's a loss of confidence because he has no belief in his strokes. He needs to talk it through w/ someone while he's playing these tourneys. They will help him deal w/ these losses so they don't derail his comeback. In his post match presser, Dom said he was looking to play some challengers to help build his confidence. He admitted the TB loss destroyed him.
I saw your post after he lost to Sonego, I also think he needs to look for a sports psychologist as you suggestedHe doesn't realize it's not just a loss of confidence.
