Just shows how blind you really are. I've been defending Rafa's play lately, but of course you would disagree that he's been playing pretty well.

Sorry but I haven't seen any defense about Rafa's play earlier and lately from you and probably neither in the future

And this is the kind of idiocy you want to defend Kieran?

What're you talking about, bro? I was talking about a poster logging in to pick on somebody. Eez the different, no?

No, not if what he's calling her on is true.

We can always ignore people whose posts we don't like. I even do it sometimes... :snicker ;)

Unfortunately, even someone I have on ignore (Carol) will still have her posts show up when someone (lacatch) quotes them. I agree with lacatch, she does exactly the things he called her on.

Herbert holds to go up 6-5. He's got decent groundstrokes, quite adept at the net. Nishi would be a huge scalp, but those nerves. :(

Carol, brother Nehmeth seemed to be the only Djokovic fan who understood that Rafa had put it up to him in the match at IW. He defended Rafa against the idea that the first set of the match was all down to Novak playing below par, and not because Rafa had matched him. No need to be picking fights you don't need to...

If I had a nickel for every talented young player who bottled his serve when victory was on his racquet... :cover

Nishikori advances 6-2, 7-6.

I can forgive the newbies, because they're inexperienced. It's the so-called great players at the top, who've won feck all in their long careers, and who defer too easy and too often to the best players, who I can't forgive... :nono

Raonic defeats Kudla, Dolgo beats Seppi.

We could see yet another early exit from Stan. He lost the first set to Andrey Kuznetsov 4-6, and the Russian is a player who found some form and confidence this year, continuing to have better and better results.

Kuznetzov just took the first set off Wawrinka. Wonder if Kokinakis's cast off isn't robbing the pock marked Swiss from his usual energy.

Stan had Kuznetsov down 0-40 and Andrey came back. Now Kuznetsov has Stan down 0-40

edit: double faults at 15- 40 and Kuznetsov is up a break in the 2nd 3-2.

Is my computer squishing Stan or does he really look that fat out there???

Good job by Andrey Kuznetsov.
:clap

I checked quickly his career record is 44W- 59L, but this year before Miami he is 10W - 5L, so he obviously is doing something right.
He will break into the top 50 following Miami for the first time in his career.

So now, Nadal got a break too. He is now the top seed in his quarter.

He still has Raonic on his quarter so it is not as easy as it looks...

I see that Nadal just can't land those huge winners into the court. When he tries to play ballz to da wall tennis ( see Verdasco, Wawrinka), it simply doesn't work. He needs those shots when things get tight, especially the forehand down the line. At least he isn't shanking the ball like a madman now. But needs to fix a number of things to fight the top dog, because realistically, that man is his only threat. Losing to anyone else in this seemingly improved 2016 form is an anomaly. I will assess his level in Monte Carlo.

All Rafa has to do is force Raonic to move around; Milos' body will do the rest.

The way Nadal plays, he is beatable. Despite all the "incline" partisans, he is not what he used to be.
Plus a reminder, Raonic has the best record in 2016 of all the players not named Djokovic.. Point wise and also % wise.
