Well, this ain't over.

OK. You're right dude. Nicky makes a comeback after gift-wrapping the first set TB, I guess he learned his lesson.

Fed badly outplayed him but still lost the set. That will be tough to recover from

Roger is serving well too

He's playing pretty well generally. Just a few key points here and there holding the balance of the match. I thought Nick pinched that set really, but Federer pinched the first, so I guess we're even stevens on all counts.

Only good look he had was an average 2nd serve he dumped into the net on match point

I have seen enough from Kyrgios to think that he is going to win Slams, and several of them. He has the desire and heart.

nick cannot hold it together for two full weeks..I doubt it

This may be the first set between these two that may not go to a TB.

Yeah I reckon you're right though Nostradamus here thought it was gonna be 7-5 6-3 to Roger :snicker

I don't know, AP, I think something has shifted over the last month or so. He seems to be finding that missing ingredient and shows the hunger needed to be a champion. His game is obviously there - I see a player who is better than all but the Biggish Five, and he might be right there with them now.

Front, I agree with both of you. You can't separate mentality and tactics from overall talent, but I think we can say that Monfils is as physically talented as almost anyone.

Btw, anyone who think Monfils is a better player than Kyrgios is an imbecile.

Btw, anyone who think Monfils isn't as talented a player as Kyrgios is an imbecile.

Couldn't disagree more. Monfils doesn't have a clue how to play which shows a huge lack of grey matter and therefore less talent. Monfils shouldn't play as a pusher with his shot making skills but he does. He's a moron. He tries to rally against Nadal, Murray and Djokovic ffs. He hasn't a clue how to play. He should be trying to play them like the aggressive players who manage to beat them.
Monfils have made it to several grand slams semi or at less on.. There isn't a damn thing that nick can do on the court or with a racket that Gael cant do.. Yes , Gael isn't committed to being a champion but when he wants too he can compete with anyone who ever lived on a court. See, I replied to your post without calling you the As@#ine Mo@on you always are about your bias towards some players

This is not to say Pete was serve dependent. But certainly he must have bailed himself out so many times with his serve.

True, but Nick should really have won the first.

Yep, Fed is still playing well to start the set. I can't speak for the first set but he's hitting the ball extremely well and doing pretty decent with the serve after serving poorly in set 1 (going off the stats). I'd say his return has been very good too aside from the big miss on match point.

Gael doesn't serve like Nick, so there's at least that.

Feels like Nick is getting a little bit better from the ground and Roger may be losing a bit of pace. Understandable for the old man playing tons of tennis the last two days
