So, Rafa's path has become crystal clear now. Grigor out, Raonic withdrawn.

May be this means, Kohly will beat Rafa :devil

Too bad for Milos. Now, Nadal does not have anything but a good and reliable backhand. He passes well off of that wing and he has developed a slice to keep him in points when pulled wide. As a rally shot, he can flatten it out and drill it very hard when he wishes. It is a shot that is underappreciated in my view, although when not confident his slice can float with little bite and he can hit too passively off that wing when nervous. but, let's face it, there has been little of that in his career.

Obviously great news for Rafa and his legion of fans in Miami and at this event in particular. I expect and hope he makes it to the final. What a treat if we get him and Roger battling in the final for the second time twelve years after the first and only time in Miami!

This will be the one prediction Tignor gets correct..this court isn't as slow or high bouncing at IW..JMDP will be able to put a lot of pressure on Roger, imo

All Roger has to do is exploit poor Juan's backhand and it's game over on any surface.

JMDP sometimes can "hide " his backhand against the better player however Novak was able to break it down. If Roger serves great and plays aggressively with his forehand he should be able to win the match. JMDP sometimes hits his two handed bh which robs Roger of the opportunity to try to hit thru the Argentinian..

Not intentionally being mean to Del Potro but in his current state of not being able to hit backhands properly, it's a bad loss for any of the top players to lose against him. Serve to his backhand and hit all the time to his backhand in rallies in a boring Nadal fashion and you are guaranteed to win unless you serve very badly and fail to execute hitting to his backhand, which really no top player should fail to do.

It's about time that Rafa has clearer the way, usually he didn't . Hope he reaches the finals but with better 'ideas' than in the AO and most of anything else better serve, then everything would be easier for him :please:

Verdasco steals the second set, but Kei is up a break in 3rd. The winner of this match would be the only seed left alive in the bottom quarter.

Hiding backhand might be doable with a third or second tier player across the net. But, it is difficult to do so against top tier players. In fact, in view of this I think JMDP can never win a big title again.
I actually like and often root for JMDP. But, this is a sad fact.

Wow, Rafa has an easy draw:

Sela, Kohlschreiber, and Mahut through the fourth round.

After that he plays one of Sock, Vesely, or Donaldson in the QF.

In the SF it will probably be Nishikori, and in the Final one of Wawrinka, Federer, Kyrgios, or maybe Del Potro. In other words, he doesn't face a truly difficult opponent until the SF, and he's only going to have to beat two top 10 opponents to win the title.

I think that Borna Coric has been overrated. I don't see him as a future No. 1.

Don't worry Roger's fans, Delpo has said that he hopes to play well and a competitive match though he is not 100% fitted
