What makes you so sure that he will be number until Wimbledon? He has so many points to defend, and you better hope that he will be fit enough to defend all those points. I know he is a clay court specialist, but he can be upended if he is not close to full fitness. As you know, he relies on fitness to play his best tennis.
Yes nadal has a lot of points to def but useless he not 100% he most likely def most of them, thiem the only one who can beat on clay right now The rest not really.

Hc and grass is where you get injured more?

No. Much quicker points, easier to hit aces and winners. Clearly you need to run A LOT more on clay and he'll be 37 in August. He knows what he's doing.

Today, Delpo plays Kei. That is the most interesting match coming up.

I reckon he should, yeah, but he doesn't get injured from grass. He gets injured from overplaying on clay.
Speaking of Rafa..he is practicing without pain on the clay...Miss Carol was very good about providing updates on his conditioning and his schedule..

Clay is like an adrenaline rush for him. His legs could be hanging off and he's happy as a pig in shit playing on that surface and all nagging pains disappear :) Roger wouldn't have been much of a factor on clay except maybe making a masters semi or possibly final if Thiem got knocked out but him not playing clay again means we won't see him again now till June which kind of sucks. I like watching clay too so it's a bummer the guy is 36 going on 37 or he'd be playing.

Chung is the first to make the R16, dismantling Mmoh: 6-1, 6-1.

I did not see yesterday's match at all. But, am shocked to learn the result. I was not exactly expecting Fed to win Miami (even though in the draw challenge I picked him). But, I certainly expected that he will make it to QF or better and retain the #1 ranking. I have no interest in seeing the lowlights either now.

Given that he is skipping clay season and given that he is out early in Miami, I think he will play both Stuttgart and Halle before Wimbledon.
Let us hope that they are #98, #99 and #100.

Just watched Sousa x Donaldson. Good match. Sousa is playing fine tennis and Sousa x Chung will be a very good match.

Grigor upset by Chardy
Chardy drives me crazy! Whenever I pick him to win, he loses, and vice-versa. But I'm glad he won. I like he's game, but you never know when he brings it. I didn't watch much, so not sure if Grigor was off, or Chardy was hot.

Send her a PM...sometimes as you know these boards gets so heated especially Fedal fans...time can cool emotions and rational thoughts can ultimately prevail..Rooting for your preference of a tennis champion can be as volatile as religious beliefs and politics..Carol is a very nice person, her views may not always sit well but her opinions needs to be respected as others who received less combative arguments when they post.. this is all about competitive banter about a game..Tennis is just a Sport and a way for some of us fanatics to have a way to get away from the rigorous day to day events that dominate all of our lives..Remember Sports Does Not build characters they reveals them

Milos defeated Schwartzman and on paper this is an upset .
I am glad he is getting his mojo back. He was a non factor for more than a year, falling from 3 to as low as 38, but now us on his way back to the top 20 at least .

Grigor upset by Chardy
Do we even have to call this an upset? I don't look at rankings to determine if an outcome is an upset. I base it on my expectations, and frankly with Grigor, I have no expectations

When commentators qualify "upsets", yes they do look at rankings, unlike you.

hmmmm... I'm not so sure about that. Do they call it an upset if a Djokovic whose ranking has drifted beats someone temporarily ranked much higher than him?
