Really disappointed in Keys. Hoping she's not another flash-in-a-Grand-Slam-semi American hopeful that flames out.

I got really frustrated at the hype around Keys after a single good GS performance. I think at very least you need to string together a few good months of play or a few good GS appearances to be a new "great hope" like Stephens did before her breakdown and Bouchard did last year. Still I wished the best for her. After her American swing I'm thinking I was right that they hype came way too soon.

Hard to get excited about these players lately. When they start to back up their one big success, then I might get hopeful.

"It's something that's always there obviously, but I'm very much right in the middle," she said. "I don't really think of it. I don't really identify myself as white or African-American. I'm just me. I'm Madison."
I think she is just acknowledging that she is mixed.. Its just who she is,, no problem, IMO

I didn't catch the Keys Sloane match, but am surprised by the result. When I expressed excitement over Keys at AO, I did not mean that she was going to immediately play like a top player. I predicted that she would get to the top sometime in her career. I still believe this because she has the head and heart to get there.
I am impressed by Vika and Woz. Hoping they continue playing well.
Serena's knee must be better. Cheering for her to capture number 21 at FO.
