Interesting points here. Personally I don't think the "social decay" of women is due to some feminist movement. The reason there are more whores and mentally unstable women is due to the changes around them. The same is actually true for men it's just that due to the stereotypical gender roles we tend to notice the "poor behavior" of men less.

Consider the difference in TV shows and movies from just 15-20 years ago. Married with Children was finally banned for being so offensive to fat women while today you have South Park. Married with Children would be just another comedy today and wouldn't be deemed the least bit ofensive. Add to that everyone has access to the internet today and instead of knitting and reading, little girls will be on chatting with boys, reading up on media gossip and the messed up lives of everyone in Hollywood. They might even stumble upon a hell of a lot of porn at an early age. It is often argued that the increase of technology will lead to society's decay and ultimately it's demise. Everyone is just growing up faster these days and are exposed and eventually desensitized to adult matters.

Think 20+ years from now when a vast majority of people work from home, people will almost only be shopping online, there will probably be more violent and sex filled shows, etc. It's only going to get worse...and I don't see any kind of feminism movement being the cause of it.

It's no black and white nor as simple to pinpoint one particular cause.

I will tell you this though, feminism has changed the dynamics of social interactions between men and women and turned it upside down. It has promised impossible outcomes and demanded unsustainable concessions.

Your typical american women is FAT, lazy and has incredible high standards for potential mates that Brad Pitt seems only capable of fulfilling. You don't see this as much in Eastern Europe, South American and Southeast Asia.....yet.

I have to point out, that civil right causes embraced by feminists are worthy battles.....my attack is solely on gender feminists that pretend to deny biology and claim men and women are equal in every sense of the world.

As a result, the average american women can't nurture their children, obsess too much with her career while relying on child care to do the love and nurturing she can only provide. Then she demands her husband to earn more than her, look better than her and be as much of a mom as her. How many young women do you know that can cook? clean? Aren't you tired of seeing women at the mall in flip flops and spandex? Whatever happened with long hair?

I mean, it's one or the other but you can't be ALL at the SAME time. Androgynous society is doom to fail.....you are seeing it already.

Good points and it is important to differentiate between feminists for civil rights vs. other matters. I will say that an argument regarding American women's looks is a loaded topic. Hollywood would have them all be stick figures and then you also have some hopping on the BBW bandwagon too. But there are other factors too...fast food joints in every block of town and our current activity...parking our asses on a chair in front of a computer :p Having only been to Europe once (Greece) it is clear to see that no matter where you are there will be a fair share of walking. I'd think that some of the real big cities in the U.S. have a lot lower % of fat people than smaller cities and it can't be denied that climate is a part of it. There are going to be a lot more fat people in Wisconsin than Florida

As for women in the workforce that too is a loaded one. There is a fine line between being motivated to enhance your career vs. being so ambitious that your kids are being raised at daycare. Some handle it better than others I suppose but I agree it is a growing concern.

Beauty is all in the eye of the beholder so difficult to make sweeping statements about somebody in an almost fact-like manner. I think Sharapova is good looking but not stunning. Each to their own.

exactly, why should hungtingyou be called 'sexist' for saying that Maria is unattractive and average looking? how about those who ridiculed Murray and Nalby? yet again, a clueless feminist makes sweeping statement about somebody based on the fashionable political correctness.... just appalling.

You should check your facts before putting a word in quotes. In all four pages of this thread, the word "sexist" only appears in your post.

Typical male response for an average looking, no personality and manish women.

Have at it!

Two things. One, you're missing the point of the "foot in mouth" picture. What you said was chauvinistic, demeaning, and misses the fact that Maria Sharapova is a top-notch tennis player and a human being outside of her sexuality.

Two, if you think she's "average looking" then I don't know what your standards are. She's beautiful and quite elegant.

All that said, while I shouldn't have to say this because it is a deflection on your part, I don' "worship the ground she walks on." I follow women's tennis but not as much as men's, and I don't have any particular favorites. What I take issue with is your demeaning remarks and what seems two be a quite obvious chauvinistic attitude. I have no idea how far it extends, but it certainly stands out like a sore thumb in this context.

Calling a spade a SPADE is not chauvinistic.....are you a feminist? Because that's their last line of defense, lose the argument......insult the man.

I'm from Puerto Rico (lots of talent), Maria Sharapova is AVERAGE looking and I'm being nice since the photo-shoots are amazing at making ugly women and men look magnificent.

Listen, if we talk about the tennis player then I have no issues...she has worked her ass off and mad respect for accomplishing so much. Now, if we talk about Maria as a mate prospect; sorry but Grigor can do much better and he knows that.

The feminists want to cover the sky with their bare hands, enjoy all the benefits from reckless behavior while taking zero responsibility for it. Whole generations of western women tainted with their masculine attitudes and crooked world views. It has even tainted South America and parts of Eastern Europe. At least they have it better than men.......every day more feminine, weak and soul less.....pedestalize women at their own peril; picking them up after the long carousel ride......a ride Maria is very comfortable and quite the expert.

Really Hunting you.. what are you trying to prove.. the comment of yours is not only degrading about Maria and that is not the reason I took offense to it.. it degrading to all women.. no female should be talked about like this..and to be honest .. DImitrov is no Tom Cruise himself

HuntingU is right, this is exactly what happens when people let feminism eat into our culture. Nowadays, it's not ok to say a woman is 'average looking' yet on the other hand it's perfectly fine to ridicule some guys' appearance (don't know how many times happened to Nalby and Murray) anyway you want. They take offense at anything that is not complimentary, calling it 'degrading to all women' just because one says Maria is average looking.... you are sick, and that sickness is a direct result of buying into feminism.

LOL, Kiu! Pretty wacky how hard some of the posters tipped over and worried that there was a feminist agenda, just talking gossip about 2 tennis players who are dating. Good Lord...is Maria pretty or not? Really?! She's pretty enough, and so is Grigor. They make a very pretty couple. But in terms of tennis cred, it's Maria all the way, and she doesn't deserve to be treated like an appendage to Dimitrov. (I think this is what have certain folks' panties in a twist.)

degrading to women? which part of 'maria is the girl that you take......' do you not understand? that's degrading to Maria if you want to stretch it, and HuntingU clearly expressed his opinion about her appearance ..... not women in general. Even then, if the same thing was said about a man, people laugh it off and nobody would be sissy enough to scream 'chauvinist this and that'.

What does tennis credential have to do with this? anyone with good nature wouldn't say something like this, shows your colors really. Did anyone even imply that she is not enough tennis player to be with him?

ok even if it comes down to tennis cred, Maria is not half the player Grigor is...... oh of course you are going to apply gender discrimination when it suits you, i know it's coming. Put simply, Grigor is a much better tennis player than Maria can ever dream to be. Pity Grigor doesn't get all the concessions and protection (from playing against the real best players), so he can enjoy easy 'stardom' like those mediocre players do.

That career grand slam is for specifically designed for players who can't compete against world class players, denying that is denying the world we live in. Which planet do you live in where Sharapova is a better tennis player than Grigor?

Grigor would struggle to lose even games to Maria, unless she gets naked :D
If a player can bagel another rather easily, then he is the better player.... any questions?

Ricardo, you are reaching SO hard to say this. A career slam has been rarely achieved on either the men's and women's sides. It is not a manufactured accomplishment. It means that a player has beaten the whole field on every surface.

If you remember that women play the women, and men play the men, then Sharapova is clearly the better player of the two, between herself and Dimitrov, based on results. How would you otherwise compare them, as players? And why would you need to? Because I said that Sharapova doesn't deserve to be treated as an appendage to Grigor? She doesn't. Of the two, he is the 'boy toy.' :p

sure, women play the women and men play the men; juniors play the juniors and seniors play the seniors yet nobody would equate the significance of their titles would they? it isn't worth the same. Anyone can drink cool-aid and keep believing, it's personal opinion only but doesn't make it true.

A club player i know is very good player, never lost any club matches so he must be better than Grigor, Sharapova or Federer :laydownlaughing funny logic? that's exactly what you were saying. The significance of any RESULT can only be determined when it's done against the same level of field. unlike you, i don't let agenda get in the way of facts. Simply put, Grigor >> Sharapova as far as tennis ability goes, doesn't matter if Maria got titles against inferior competition. Who cares winning micky mouse matches can compare to matches against the best in the world? i am too sober to buy into that.

I agree she looks gorgeous with no makeup on or no, wait. sorry. I lied. Is that Sharon Stone with no makeup and a bad hair day ? Sharapova looks around 45 years old here. That's what poor Grigor is waking up to. Yikes. No wonder his results have taken a dive again since beating Djokovic a few months ago :laydownlaughing

Forget about Maria and her beaux, the WTA Black Hole just shifted on its axis and Radek Stepanek is in the throes of awakening from his slumber - not unlike Christopher Lee at the start of Hammer House of Horror Dracula fillums - and he's in the midst of divorce proceedings from Vaida Vaidisova. In the meantime, he's set his fangs on Kvitova.

Ah, what a promising career she once had...
