Typical male response for an average looking, no personality and manish women.

Have at it!

Why would you?

I guess it depends what would you take her home for...certainly not to introduce to mommy.

The truth hurts pal........it is what it is.

Can you keep her count? I know I don't......Grigor will do what everybody else has done.

RE: Has Grigor showed today that he might be the future of tennis ?

I have to give some credit to huntingyou here. I never understood the craze about Sharapova's supposed looks and I find her on-court screeching to be utterly repulsive.

In a way, I somewhat feel bad for Sharapova because she has tried so hard to act like she is Kournikova with (tennis) game. The truth is, she has displayed much more tennis game than Kournikova, but she is not Kournikova. Both Kournikova and Hingis set a standard for female beauty on a tennis court that I haven't seen matched since. Kirilenko is probably the closest.

That said, Sharapova has drawn a great deal of attention to herself with her attempts at being a big-time celebrity, and she has invited the criticism that naturally comes with that. In a way, I don't think she has ever been comfortable being this way, but a part of her feels the need to be a beauty icon and sex symbol. The fact that it hasn't worked inspires either empathy or hostility. In huntingyou's case, it is obviously a condescending hostility.

El Dude posted the foot in the mouth picture. Well, to be honest, much of Ms. Sharapova's posturing has, metaphorically speaking, resulted in her foot being firmly stuck in her mouth.

Agreed. Maria Sharapova is a multiple-Slam winner, has the career Slam, and has beaten the fluffy pants off of most women in the game. She doesn't deserve to be treated like the tart of a guy who is verging on being an over-rated underachiever in the same game.

After a full page that went from Dimitrov into Sharapova as his GF? I wouldn't call that "quickly."

But it HAS worked. She's the highest earning woman in sports history. Of course there's some hostility towards her as well, but that comes with the territory. No one is loved by everyone.

I agree, too, that it has worked, Jhar. And I'm one of those who took Maria for a light-weight, because of all the marketing up-front, but she has convinced me by her game, and her grit, especially coming back from injury, even to win the FO.

(And to anyone who would say this topic has moved to WTA, I say that plenty of people moved it there before. If you don't want to talk about the WTA on the ATP forum, don't do a full page on Maria Sharapova. :p)

OMG...20-something tennis players might actually have sex lives. Alert TMZ.com.

And since Dimitrov lost his tennis match shall we also infer that that's why? Apparently, based on the thread in ATP. If tennis players have nondescript partners, we don't have to think about it, but if they sleep with famous people, we do? Oh, grow up, people. :p

As to the OP, if they're encoupled, I'm perfectly happy for them.

Because I re-ignited this thread and triggerred such a reaction, i feel like adding some explanation. I saw twitted statements, that Grigor leanred something from Maria, in terms of grit and guts, and surely both were seen in the match with Novak.
And is not hard to find such a picture today, because the gossip pages and papparazzi will be all over such a story in no time, considering who Maria is.
I can only hope that soon Grigor also will be a well known athlete world wide, not just another beau.

Ouch, You could cut the cynicism with a knife... Maybe they just happen to like each other a bit. Sharapova's a money making machine - she doesn't need Grigor. I doubt he would be struggling to find female company either.

Anyway, they both seem to be playing well enough since they hooked up.

Two things. One, you're missing the point of the "foot in mouth" picture. What you said was chauvinistic, demeaning, and misses the fact that Maria Sharapova is a top-notch tennis player and a human being outside of her sexuality.

Two, if you think she's "average looking" then I don't know what your standards are. She's beautiful and quite elegant.

All that said, while I shouldn't have to say this because it is a deflection on your part, I don' "worship the ground she walks on." I follow women's tennis but not as much as men's, and I don't have any particular favorites. What I take issue with is your demeaning remarks and what seems two be a quite obvious chauvinistic attitude. I have no idea how far it extends, but it certainly stands out like a sore thumb in this context.

In that sense, it has worked. But the numerous embarrassments she has suffered when it comes to celebrity headlines are a product of this misguided effort on her part. I prefer not to dig up the dirty laundry, but I remember the Maroon 5 loser going public with his dissatisfaction with Ms. Sharapova in a certain sphere of activity. That was not a good look, even if some people - like myself - see Adam Levine as an effeminate doofus.

Then, there is the fact that she seems to jump from boyfriend to boyfriend, not really in a subtle way but rather conspicuously - hence, hunting4aclue's remarks.

Calling a spade a SPADE is not chauvinistic.....are you a feminist? Because that's their last line of defense, lose the argument......insult the man.

I'm from Puerto Rico (lots of talent), Maria Sharapova is AVERAGE looking and I'm being nice since the photo-shoots are amazing at making ugly women and men look magnificent.

Listen, if we talk about the tennis player then I have no issues...she has worked her ass off and mad respect for accomplishing so much. Now, if we talk about Maria as a mate prospect; sorry but Grigor can do much better and he knows that.

The feminists want to cover the sky with their bare hands, enjoy all the benefits from reckless behavior while taking zero responsibility for it. Whole generations of western women tainted with their masculine attitudes and crooked world views. It has even tainted South America and parts of Eastern Europe. At least they have it better than men.......every day more feminine, weak and soul less.....pedestalize women at their own peril; picking them up after the long carousel ride......a ride Maria is very comfortable and quite the expert.
