I honestly didn't care, win or lose, though I was hoping that they'd win. But, like you, I cried my eyes out at the end, and with the speech.

Agree, it was not about winning or losing, it was great these 2 players, who have formed deep friendships over the years, have soo much respect for one another, and also their respective families, playing together for Roger's last professional match. It will be remembered for a very long time. ( Help me when Rafa retires)

Every yr. it's pretty much "Weekend At Bernies" as my past fave of the 70's is being wheeled around & propped up for a few days of glad-handing! :-)2
So, there's essentially no amount of enjoyment in tennis that you can't just crap all over, is that right? All of the fun went out in the 70s? Sorry we got on your lawn.

Seek help! It was supposed to be funny with Bjorn mimicking a dead body! You're supposed to laugh "KillJoy!" :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::yawningface::fearful-face:
I've been trying to recognize a sense of humor in you...so difficult to manufacture the sense of it, after all these years. Sorry I missed it, when you finally tried.

Yeah I’m the same. Of course I detested him in the early Fedal wars but maybe since 2018 I’ve grown to realise that I better start enjoying him too, he’s too great to let myself get in my own way of doing that. His bromance with Rafa is epic. Never seen anything like it in sports, at this level. A genuine friendship. The two of them always giggling soon as they’re together…
Kieran, For me I know it was his intolerable fanatics aka the Fed's fans that had made me begin building up an animosity towards Roger. His game was technically Perfect and it was Toni Nadal's love for Roger's game that was the determining factor for me as I began to appreciate how brilliantly talented Roger was. Toni always said that he felt Roger set the bar for everyone including his nephew to be measured against. That's why Toni Nadal's coaching and Rafael s execution of their plan is legendary.

For my money, no you can't say that.
This is an open forum.
The players get penalties for obscene language on open court...

There are many better ways to express onesself.

Trust me Tennis _Steve.. I earned that Fbomb from Miss Goodie Two shoes. She knows I have nothing but love, admiration and respect for señorita Moxie. Moxie is absolutely the GOAT of the posters on this forum. Moxie actually takes the time to carefully articulate her messages and her response to other posters. She's my heart.. PEACE ☮️

That was a "joke F-bomb" and A-P knows it. We're both big Rafa fans. Generally, we keep it pretty clean around here.

Oh it's not the circumstances at all.
It's just the use of it.

A lot of users on this site have known each other for over a decade, beginning when tennis.com had a discussion forum. When that closed, we moved around a few times, then settled here. The administrator of Tennis.com had an iron fist approach to moderating, which many users disliked.

On Tennis Frontier, @kskate2 and I (the admins) have taken a much more backseat approach to moderating. We mainly do clean up activities, such as moving messages into different threads, moving threads to a different forum, deleting duplicate posts/threads, etc. We rarely delete posts.

There are no language filters on this site, so technically anyone can write anything. That said, it’s self-evident the users generally don’t engage in using “bad words”. As @Moxie wrote, it was a ”special day” and a joke.

Keep up the good work guys. Sure, the odd F-Bomb gets dropped once in a while, but context matters. Most people are pretty sincere here, even if you think they're talking crap about one thing or another... and it finds a strange kind of level of respect if not agreement.

From the beginning, many people (myself included) have viewed Laver Cup as a glorified exhibition. After the Federer/Nadal loss last night, I no longer think of it that way, considering a) Roger Federer was involved in the founding of the tournament and b) he lost his final match here.

Roger had a MP; just blew it! Sock & Tiafoe said to themselves, "we tried to give it to him, but he choked it like a dog as he's done in the past!" :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :lol6:

I agree I was the same until last night. I also thought the way Tiafoe was trying to win some points by aiming directly at Fedal on multiple occasions shows this was anything but an exhibition!! You have to be pretty desperate to win if your trying to hit Fed to win the point in his retirement match :astonished-face:
