...and here I thought Dimitrov would have the tougher time! Wow! lol! :popcorn :eyepop  :nono

Dodig is not exactly a clay court player, while Traver is a typical one. I was not surprised to see these results.
Also Dodig currently is barely inside the top 100, while Traver is having a solid season, for his standard.

Grigor has been struggling of late! I thought anything could happen; esp; trying to defend his seeding behind his idol/mentor, "Roger Federer!" :p

Since when is Roger Grigor's mentor? As far as idol is concerned, people get carried away with the overdone "Baby Fed", which Grigor hates.
What Grigor thinks is actually the following:
" I am my own favorite player"
So take that tennis world!

Are you kidding? I modeled my game after certain players, sometimes borrowing whole strategies and appearance of their game, but no one player emulates another pro more than what Grigor does with Roger! It's almost obscene at times; some thinking more a parody of trying to make fun of The GOAT! If you crop off the head, you wouldn't know who was playing without "the graphics" telling you! They're even built similarly with spindly legs and hairy limbs! lol! :dodgy:

What I liked about his performance against Traver is that in the third set he played very aggressively and closed it out in the third, even though he did lose focus. I just hope these clay matches don't eat him up physically and that he is up for it.

Did Federer just get a warning?

Can't understand a thing the Ump is saying.

He did...after sending the ball out of the stadium after that missed break chance.
He did get the break though, up 3-1. He is agitated though and not comfortable at all.

Thanks.

Schwarzman is not making it easier for him either. Quite entertaining player to watch.

Roger is lacking power for clay. Power is never an issue when the court is faster because he plays attacking tennis , cuts angles, goes to the net, the ball jumps off the court etc...But on clay, when he is stuck on the baseline, it is clear as day to see anyone more physical than him will overpower him. Is it too late for him to get more power training?
