Is it just me or was Fed killing that forehand in the rallies. He did misfire a few times yeah, but this game could actually trouble someone at Madrid at least. (As in saving him from not falling to some bloke before the semis at least).
And also, Nieminen is a decent returner.

That's been my thinking! He'll have to play "lights out" just to avoid an early round upset! Boy; expectations have fallen big time for our hero! lol! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

Yeah on clay he has done nothing to prove himself in some recent clay matches, leaving us scratching our heads after the loss. :cover This doesn't bode well for his run at RG.

He wants to hold that consecutive run at majors; the only top player that seems to care! None others have even bothered; skipping AO and FO on a regular basis! Nole's holding up well so it'll probably be him that Federer will have to hold off for that record after all is said and done! :shy:

^Look at Lahyani counting the scores in Turkish and everything. Not a bad job...

He's my favorite umpire. He's excellent at it, plus he always looks like he's enjoying himself, which is infectious, and helps the crowds get into it more.

Yeah he gets all dramatic with his voice when it's like a breakpoint at a tight moment. Love it.

Gimeno Traver is a fine player but I don't think he can do too much against Fed unless this last one would play horrible (like Rafa these last months :nono)

yes he is - up a break in the second, and Fed misses the chance to re-break. 1-8 on break points. horrible :)

*also, DGT's drop shots are quite something, at times.
