... and wait ... and wait ...

A WTA match is currently being played on main court, so maybe they’ll get a few more matches in today.
Which match is that, because I see no matches started on the website I am looking at.

However, except the main court, all the other matches are postponed according to my website.

Maybe no floodlights on other courts and it is probably too late to start matches now due to sunset around 8:30 pm local time. Okay, at least some action today.

Only two ATP matches today, Djoke and Kohl.

So they're skipping most of the day session and accommodating Nole by putting him on tonight? Great! That means Roger and Rafa will have to "catch up" later and maybe be a little worn and "ripe" for an upset! :yesyes: :p  :ptennis:

Borna finished his 2nd round yesterday. Is that good or bad you never know. I just hope he might be ready for an upset again against the guy he knows how to beat, though Fed dismantled him in Dubai.

If they end up tired from overplaying you'll just say they're past it and should retire.

Now they moved Novak-Shapo an hour later again. My only guess is they didn't have enough time for a warm up.

Latest update says no ATP matches today
I just saw it too. Evening session is canceled. They will anounce tomorrow's schedule soon. I imagine plenty of head scratching for the tournament director.

Azarenka/Svitolina finished.

Nope. That was a late night match of yesterday.

Only one match took place today, technically. That is the match where Venus won against Serena (thanks to walkover).

Him and Zverev should go on a road trip together to re-think what to do next. It could end up more productive than playing every week like this.
No road trip for Grigor. He's taken a wild card into qualies (!) at Geneva Open. His first time playing qualies since 2012, I think I heard. At least he's putting ego aside and trying to play himself into some shape for RG.

Schedule for tomorrow looks crazy. They'll start at 10am, which is smart, everyone is playing, and a lot of winners (all of them?) will have to play twice. At least the weather should be fine tomorrow and Friday, so they should be able to whittle the field down and finish.

If the weather is fine for the next two days and they can whittle the field, it should be ok. The four semifinalists are not likely to play in any other tourneys next week and so it is not a big deal if we go on to Monday finals.

I don't think it will push to Monday. Biggest question is if the women have to finish on Sunday.

Tons of matches today. All courts are fully booked. The weekend forecast looks awful again, but even if it stretches to Monday I agree it's not a big deal. Unless rain pours constantly over the weekend and no matches get a chance. At least they have two sunny days today and tomorrow.

Thiem stunned by Verdasco. Fernando delivered an upset this time. Is there a guy on tour who talks more beetween points? Fernadno barely keeps his mouth shut It's a pity he never reached his full potential, but is still dangerous floater even at 35.
