A video of Veus dancing in Bollywood style is available on this page.

Venus is not playing in the main circus organized by Bhupathi across 4 countries. She is playing in the mini-circus a poor man's version, organized by Vijay Amritraj across 6 cities in India.

Chris Kermode (ATP president) on the Indian junket:

''I actually don't have a problem with it,'' he told reporters in Shanghai. ''It isn't the ATP's business what the players did in the off-season, even if they criticize the duration of the tour and then jet away to play exhibition events when the curtain falls on the calendar.''

I love how he worked that in. :laydownlaughing

It is taking on circus qualities, but if I were offered that much money, I'd probably do it, too.

An article about the junket here. I like the "power" point idea: a player can shout out before the next point and it becomes worth double. Could be funny...

The BBC article that you cite says David Ferrer actively took the decision that his body would be better served by a period of rest.

It is just not true. You should know better; David, a man who plays almost every week, does not think like that. He is actually playing for Team Chandigarh in the mini-circus organized by Vijay. Perhaps, Mahesh did not bother to invite Ferrer to participate in the main circusas David is not of much star value (despite their rankings, Tsonga and Monfils are more crowd pleasers than David). Perhaps Mahesh did invite and Ferrer refused at one point and then it became too late for him to change his mind as Mahesh has filled all the open slots.

Two weeks ago, Ferrer pulled out of whatever Indian junket he'd entered, citing injury to his lower back...

Tsonga was injured for the flag, not to win 500 000 euros in Manille !!!! An uproar has begun in France about his "fast" recovery !! Shame on him

Oh please I laughed out loud watching Sharapova trying to volley in her doubles match with Murray
Sharapova I cant understand why you didnt play more doubles in your career,it really does enhance your singles game.

I like those gimmicks for stuff like this. it's entertaining. Rafter and Goran still give the ball a fair old hit, don't they? And I'm glad to see that Rafter lost weight. He looked like de Niro in the last reel of Raging Bull until recently...

lol! She probably thought she created a new shot, until someone told her it's called a volley. "A what?" an exasperated, disappointed Sharapova asked.

Okay Leave My Pat Rafter Alone No?......
The reason why Pat had put on that weight was because he had another shoulder surgery
I will Never Ever get over the fact he didnt win Wimbledon....:puzzled
He had the game for it.I attended a luncheon once where Pat Rafter was guest speaker,he said and I quote 'I tried my very best to win Wimbledon...I guess I was never meant to win it'....:cry

I loved Pat when he was a player. But his shoulder injury obviously wasn't the sort that affected his hand from hoisting fork up to his lips. :Lolz:

He played two great Wimbledon finals, and in the first wasn't far from taking a two set lead against Pete. The final with Goran rightly has a special place in the annals. I never saw a match where everybody wanted both players to win...
