I loved Pat when he was a player. But his shoulder injury obviously wasn't the sort that affected his hand from hoisting fork up to his lips. :Lolz:

He played two great Wimbledon finals, and in the first wasn't far from taking a two set lead against Pete. The final with Goran rightly has a special place in the annals. I never saw a match where everybody wanted both players to win...

Sorry I wasnt one of those people
I wanted My Pat to win...I still remember that match till this very day.My daughter and I sat and cried our eyes out after he lost the final to Goran, then we went and stuffed our faces with junk food...:cry

I am with you fashionista. There was only 1 player I wanted to win that final and it was the handsome Australian net rusher.

I hope Pete has put in a tad more prep than Agassi obviously has

I know it's all hokum, but Berdy and Cilic looked like they were trying there, right? I mean, this isn't a beach towel exo tourney, with a bitta bling left in your racket bag. It's fairly well propped up by huge corps, too...

This is the first exho I think I've seen that's about 95% hit and 5% giggle, rather than the other way around. Played in good spirit, but you'd be hard-pressed to believe that those guys weren't giving a lot more than humdrum exho effort.

Hewitt & Kyrgios in the doubles against Aces yesterday, followed by Berdych/Gael in the shootout. It really seems as if this series is masquerading as an exho.

Exactly. Now, from the players perspective, they have all the power, so why are they treating this (mainly) seriously? Cilic and Tsonga both withdrew from their last big engagements on tour, citing injury, and Federer is just off a serious back problem. Hopefully he plays it for fun. This is meant to be entertaining, fellers, downtime stuff!

Must follow the normal operating principle: two people = friends, or friendly fight
5+5 people = team = war :D

According to rumors, Fed is getting paid four million US dollars for playing 6 sets (4 of
which are doubles) spread over two days in two matches of IPTL. Not a bad pay check!
Apparently, tickets are being sold for even $1000.

He's probably putting away a million a year in a coffee jar for the kids' pocket money :D

Well Fed sure enjoyed himself today - even against Berdy, who for once didn't manage to spoil the party

Pete will take comfort from the fact that he did no worse than Andre :p

Pete played? Didn't see any scores. Usually for Pete a rally lasts exactly this long: three bounces of the ball, tongue out, ace.

Was that still the case? :p
