Looking at the draw, Naomi has a potentially tough road ahead: Bencic, Pliskova, Kerber, Halep.
Will she do it?
No.

Seriously, though, who do you think will stop her?
That of course is a tough question and hence my lengthy response above. However, I think Bencic might take her out. Bencic beat her in Hopman cup last year. But, that was before Naomi found her mojo (as at that Naomi has not even won the IW yet).
But, Bencic typically does not have a plan B whereas Naomi can adapt. So, Bencic really needs to get the job done in a hurry. As Bencic never faced the current Naomi, Bencic will not be carrying any baggage and will freely swing.
Garbine won the 2nd set 6-1, but I’m not counting out Bertens. It wouldn’t surprise me if she came back to win this.
Garbine first top 10 win in over a year,defeating Bertens 57,61 64
That’s why I thought Bertens would win, but clearly I got that wrong.

Well there goes my tip to win the IW title Halep No 2 seed outed in 3 sets by teenager Marketa Vondrousova 62 36 62.
Did you watch it? I’m wondering what happened.
I still feel Halep is a player that needs a coach with her full time.
First, she needs a sports psychologist, then a full-time coach.
I thought Serena was ranked and seeded 10Garbine first top 10 win in over a year, defeating Bertens 57,61 64
Good girl. I am very pleased with her results.Bianca Andreescu continues her great form in 2019 defeating Wang (18 seed) 75 62 to reach IW quarters.Bianca is now 23-3 in 2019 and almost certainly into the Top 50,started the year 152,now into the Top 50 after 5 events.
