One other observation from this match - This was almost like clay court tennis and Roger didn't look too happy with not being able to be aggressive. So...I'm going to say Roger skips the clay season again this year. This was way too much WORK to win a match. :lulz2:
Does Roger stay at #1 if he does not play Miami ? I would skip that one if I am him. Sets are piling up...
I really hope that Roger is at a point in his career where he's taking Borna aside in the locker room and saying, "Great job. You would have won if..."
Probably...It just worries me that he played in Holland this year. I wish he wins tomorrow and takes Miami off. Probably he won't.IIRC, if he wins tomorrow, then yes because Nadal loses 600 points by not playing Miami and will drop to 8770 and Roger will have 9060 IF he skips Miami. If Roger doesn't win tomorrow and skips Miami, then he drops to 8660 and will be 2nd. But...I think he's playing Miami...

But he could adjust. Presumably Miami will be even slower as usual, so he can--as he has been saying all along--decide after.
In my mind Rotterdam replaced Dubai so no harm no foul
ITA. I was just joking about skipping the clay season. But...man...today was W-O-R-K. Personally I think Roger practices a bit on clay and then plays Rome to see how the knee does and if it's okay, then he plays RG. IIRC it was Brad Gilbert who said on ESPN yesterday that he'd talked to Pierre Paganini and PP had said that sliding on clay bothered Roger's repaired meniscus last year (in practice) more than sliding on hard courts - that it's a different kind of sliding on clay and put more pressure on the knee. If that's still true this year - then I won't be surprised if Roger skips the clay season.
ITA. He didn't play both, so he should be fine for Miami. He played the XO for his foundation on March 5 and that wasn't exactly a full-out effort. As he said about playing Miami and IW back-to-back last year - he's played tired A LOT in his career. They all do.
That's a big generalisation. How do you know everyone likes Juan Martin? Have you been all around the world asking everybody? If so, how did you manage to ask people who aren't tennis fans & those who don't speak a language you speak? That would be a very interesting meeting. Lol.If Roger plays like he did today then he'll lose in two sets to Delpo. Won't be the saddest thing in the world, as everyone like Juan Martin.
what is "ITA"?
