Too bad for Coric, but gutsy Fed not playing too well. Anyway, he keeps my draw challenge good. :D

What a nerve-wrecking match? Glad Fed found a way to win again despite the windy conditions.

Hopefully, there will be less wind tomorrow or at least Fed will have more experience of playing
in windy daytime conditions.

Can't believe that he was able to come back from behind a break twice in the final set.

Hats off to Borna Coric for not going away after losing the second set.

One other observation from this match - This was almost like clay court tennis and Roger didn't look too happy with not being able to be aggressive. So...I'm going to say Roger skips the clay season again this year. This was way too much WORK to win a match. :lulz2::lol6:

But he could adjust. Presumably Miami will be even slower as usual, so he can--as he has been saying all along--decide after.

I really hope that Roger is at a point in his career where he's taking Borna aside in the locker room and saying, "Great job. You would have won if..."

Does Roger stay at #1 if he does not play Miami ? I would skip that one if I am him. Sets are piling up...

IIRC, if he wins tomorrow, then yes because Nadal loses 600 points by not playing Miami and will drop to 8770 and Roger will have 9060 IF he skips Miami. If Roger doesn't win tomorrow and skips Miami, then he drops to 8660 and will be 2nd. But...I think he's playing Miami...

I think he said something positive to Coric at the net. I know he took Sascha Zverev aside after his AO loss and gave him a pep talk. I don't know if he knows Coric well enough to do that even though Coric is managed by Ljubicic now.

Probably...It just worries me that he played in Holland this year. I wish he wins tomorrow and takes Miami off. Probably he won't.

ITA. I was just joking about skipping the clay season. But...man...today was W-O-R-K. Personally I think Roger practices a bit on clay and then plays Rome to see how the knee does and if it's okay, then he plays RG. IIRC it was Brad Gilbert who said on ESPN yesterday that he'd talked to Pierre Paganini and PP had said that sliding on clay bothered Roger's repaired meniscus last year (in practice) more than sliding on hard courts - that it's a different kind of sliding on clay and put more pressure on the knee. If that's still true this year - then I won't be surprised if Roger skips the clay season.

In my mind Rotterdam replaced Dubai so no harm no foul

ITA. He didn't play both, so he should be fine for Miami. He played the XO for his foundation on March 5 and that wasn't exactly a full-out effort. As he said about playing Miami and IW back-to-back last year - he's played tired A LOT in his career. They all do.

I highly doubt he's playing on clay this year. The moment you see that, you can bet it's his farewell tour

that was a brutal set of tennis by Juan Martin. Jeepers the way he smashes through the wind is frightening. If the conditions are the same tomorrow then he'll surely be the heavy favourite

I was hoping Potro and Raonic plays three sets, but that isn’t happening. Potro can win the final if he isn’t tired.

hmmm... Leif Shiras was just saying there are locker room rumours that Roger has a lower back problem. Really don't want to hear it. Get out there and win the whole thing. If he has a problem then, close it down until the grass court season after this. But first.. get 98!

Federer most likely wins the final vs. Del potro, but Miami is unlikely, hopeful the be a stronger draw.

If Roger plays like he did today then he'll lose in two sets to Delpo. Won't be the saddest thing in the world, as everyone like Juan Martin.

That's a big generalisation. How do you know everyone likes Juan Martin? Have you been all around the world asking everybody? If so, how did you manage to ask people who aren't tennis fans & those who don't speak a language you speak? That would be a very interesting meeting. Lol.
