This stat will tell you the story of the match. Fed had 22 winners to 40 UFE. 22 of the UFE are on the FH side.

Next up for Fed is F. Krajinovic. He is seeded at 25.

I did not see Novak's match. So, I don't know the ground reality. May be he came back too early or may be his mind is not in it.
Either way things don't bode well for him in the near future. But, hopefully he would become a contender by the time USO rolls around.

I didn't get the sense that it was just motivation problems. To me it seemed more like frustration at not playing well and not being able to execute the way he had in the past. That coupled with he's used to lower ranked guys going away when he gets up a break. The fear factor is gone. Most of these lower ranked players right now don't seem to look at the opportunity to play him with the same level of intimidation as they do Roger or even Nadal. It's like they're not as in awe of his legacy as they are the other two.
Precisely the problem I expected him to have coming back. It’s easy to look at Fedal and think it’s easy. I tell you Fedal are unique. Freakishly so

Wertheim says he has a Djokovic-style of play. I think he and Roger have practiced together but not met on the courts?

The biggest threat to Roger is losing motivation right now. Can he continue to get up for events after #20 and getting back to #1. I hope the answer is yes but I don't blame him if he has a big fall off.

But the iron isn't just hot it's at a million degrees. And he's the fat pig rolling in 2,000 pounds of shit. You can't beg for a weaker tour than this and that ain't lost on Roger, Rafa, or even Nole and Murray. Hope Roger stays greedy and healthy for another couple years.

Djoko is completely out of shape according to the numbers in this article:
http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/news/indian-wells-2018-sunday-djokovic-daniel
"He [Daniel] advanced after two hours and 30 minutes, firing 20 winners while benefitting from an uncharacteristic 61 unforced errors from Djokovic."
Is it real or a typo? How can you commit 61 UFE in three short sets?
Also, in first set while coming back from 2-5 down, Daniel benefitted from a "very poor smash". Clearly that mis-smash has given Daniel the first set. Poor smashing and serving is the first sign of hand extension problem or a pain preventing hand extension. Would it be an indication Djoko returned to play too early after a surgery?

Djokovic's smash has always been pretty crappy. And kudos to Daniel for hanging tough.

It's a confidence shot and he doesn't hit many since he isn't at net that often! A lot of baseliners have the same problem and would rather just hit a groundstroke; often backing up to do so! In my hey day, I lived at the net and pounded many over the fence! I had no fear of hitting them, but bounced them if too high in the air!  :ptennis:

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I don't think your smash is comparable to Djokovic's. Nadal isn't a net player and he has a very fine smash. Let's not kid ourselves....Djokovic's smash is far from his finest shot.

Nadal's played a lot of doubles! He's not the regular baseliner I'm talking about! I well know how fine Rafa's smash is, but he's not in the same position of being only a baseline since he's a very good doubles' player! Didn't he win an Olympic Gold medal a couple years ago? :p

He did, indeed! But it's still a point that Djokovic, a future hall of famer, has a risible overhead smash.

Milos -Felix playing. Good times for Canadian tennis ahead I think.
Milos is looking better than...well, he hasn't played well for a long time so he is OK. Felix is being overpowered a bit but the guy has every shot. He has to grow into his body , get powerful and fit. I hope he has the right people around him.

I believe the days of Novak and Andy are over, neither will be top 10 again
It is sad!
Given that it does not take that much effort from both of them to come back to where they know how to be, given the example of Roger, and the fact that you set only the top 10 benchmark (not #1 and 3 slams in Roger's case) and the fact they are 6 year younger than Roger and the fact there are two of them not just one Roger, you're highly likely to be wrong.

I think the example of Rafa is even better...he's come back more times. ;) But I get your point. They're too young to count out. And both are solid champions.

Felix is very young, let's have patience. Good he is getting through some matches and getting experience.
