Did not see either match as I am stuck at work. But, happy with the results, especially the Bagel
that Fed feed the Bird.

Well done big guy.

Mentally , this is a huge win. Getting out of that big TB, facing match points a couple of times, and then holding your composure and stepping up your game when it mattered most is going to be big for MIlos. He actually got better as the game went on. He should work on starting well too.

Roger rushes him like no one else. I do not think he is winning against him but lots of positives to take away from this week for Milos.

Well, it's not a big deal, according to many people Milos is playing better than ever and it's not the first time that he has beaten one of the top players. If he has won it means that he has played better than Rafa but the question is if he will play so well tomorrow because usually after to beat one of the top he leaves all the good serve and game on the court and the next day he can't serve and play so well (like Berdych) we already have seen it many times
But the good think for Rafa is that he has earned more points in this tournament and now he has plenty time to practice and be ready for Miami, everything has the bad but the good part too
I can imagine how relieved the Roger fans are now....lol :snicker :p

After a long match like that Milos will probably be tired and that would mean his serve isn't as effective. Regardless of how he shows up Roger should smack him around good tomorrow. Rafa was too defensive today and returned like crap on a day where Milos' serve was way worse than normal. Hopefully Roger won't be so generous.

Call me crazy, but I'm sure Federer wanted his shot at Nadal this time. Anyway, had to leave after one set and a half, and it seems that I missed the good half of the match.

Even if I am still not exactly a fan of Raonic, I must acknowledge his steady progression. Playing bad or not, is always hard to beat Nadal on a big tournament (except that one in England). Once again, congratulations for our two Raonic watchers, Murat and Herios, who spoted this long ago and always gave us a good and balanced analysis of his game.

That doesn't mean I won't mock his backhand when I'll have a chance. I was soft today, but it won't last.

Berrer just recently for one anyway I believe.

Anyone know if this was the 1st time Rafa lost a match after having match points? The only other one he lost where I think he may have had match point/s was against Simon at Madrid in 2008.

Rafa playing way too defensive especially with the slices.. I never understand why does he consistently not have faith in his strokes. To be honest, I predicted he only make it to the quarter finals. Rafa needs about 8 -10 more matches

Rafa just needs more clay. It is the well that your favorite horse/my least favorite balding bull drinks from.

I hear you about the backhand, he has lost confidence in that shot over the years except for brief stretches. He still won the majority of baseline battles but that is to be expected on a slow court vs. anyone except maybe Djokovic. Milos was having more and more success in long rallies as the match wore on.

I would like to know if Rafa and his team does the after match film study to try determine going forward what he needs to work on. I expect he will play better in Miami, still he is not match tough ready for the top ten ranked players at this point or to expect him to compete consistently against these.caliber of players

I was unable to see the whole thing, so I'm not sure what all happened, but congrats to Milos. :)

Rafa right now is going through the same way like others great athletes go after injuries
Look the Messi example, last year he went through a tough time, after his last injury he was playing worse than everybody was expecting but after some games he became the same great player he is and even better
I'm not worry at all, Rafa is almost there, he will play better in Miami (Iwill remind you that) and I wouldn't surprised if he wins. He seems to be healthy and strong but still not with enough strong mind and confidence which is the most difficult to recovery. I'm sure that he will be more ready for the clay season than last year when he lost against players that he never would have lost if he would have been in perfect conditions not just physically but mentally (same like last year and also this year in the AO)
He has not forgot to play, we just have to give him time to recovery his very known great mind, that's all

Rafa actually should have won in straight sets

Milos game picked up the middle of the 2nd set and got stronger,he deserved his win today

Rafa is still far from his best.

^ Could not should. We could apply the "should" logic to any match in history.
