3 point contest was entertaining as expected, too bad Klay shot badly because it robbed it of a climax. If Steph had gone last it would have ended on a better note but overall I'd say it delivered.

The slam dunk contest was kind of meh. Lavine was terrific, smooth and effortless, but at the same time, I'm growing a bit tired of seeing different variations of the in between the legs dunk (3 out of his 4 dunks were of that nature).

I thought Oladipo's second dunk was unfairly poorly received because it was quite spectacular. I'll admit, his first dunk, had he nailed it on the first try, would have been sensational. Problem is his performance in the final round was quite bad. I don't understand why he would try dunks that don't come even close. You either perfect that in practice or it's too late.

Also, can we please stop getting Dr. J? He looks like he'd rather be anywhere else, and has the grumpy old man look. Can't fully blame him but still. Watching him randomly pulling out numbers was irritating.
BS , u don't really understand. Even higher respect than even Jordan is Dr J..Dr J is the pure epithimy of basketball royalty, elegance and class. For most of us, he was the #1 Everyone wanted to be like. Don't F# with the Doctor.. that's a real :nono
..if you don't want to see him, I would suggest that you go play bingo while the All Star Festivities is On ..respect your elders, it wouldn't be no NBA is it wasn't for Dr J. Leave the Doc alone

No offense pushy but you really think "I don't understand" what DR J. means to the dunk contest, his contribution, etc...? I mean, it's hardly rocket science, is it?

The thing you created is a false dilemma. No, I don't care about seeing him judge if he looks like he'd rather be elsewhere, is struggling through picking a number, and seemingly gives scores almost randomly. I still want to watch the dunk contest so I'm not going to play bingo.
no you still dont get it, Dr J was the NBA , he was the reason the NBA championship games were watched live instead of tape delayed, not just the damn dunk contest.. you were very Foul critical of Dr J

No, I DO get it. I know NBA history. I fully understand his contribution to the game. I'm aware of his cultural impact. Don't condescend when you fail to comprehend a simple point:

My "foul" criticism of Dr J has nothing to do with his status as a true legend, his contribution to the game, or the fact that he's synonymous with the dunk contest. My criticism of Dr J is the fact that he looks like a grumpy old man on the judges' table and looks like he doesn't to be there. His demeanor made things very awkward. This has NOTHING to do with everything he's done for the sport.

Dr J always looks disinterested. I highly doubt that if he didn't want to partake in All Star festivities that he would show up year after year.

The paycheck helps.

Then he is not paid enough, as that might the reason why he looks bored and disinterested.:puzzled

Mavs pick up Amare...and nothing changes for them but I'll bet we see a lot of reports about how this could put them over the top. They are starting to get hyped as much as another Dallas team we know.

Michael Carter Williams to the Bucks is great for Bucks. Their future is bright.

OKC gets the Turk, Enis Kanter. I had higher hopes for Kanter but he never quite got it together. Maybe it will work better for him in OKC, if he has a chance to touch the ball that is...

Heat gets Dragic. It could work there if Wade and Bosh were healthy together.

A big trade for Milwaukee out of nowhere. For this season I don't really like it. Knight was their best player and by far their biggest scoring threat. And my thought on any big move/trade is there will be a lot of struggles at first. I don't think the team will keep on chugging along the same way after this trade and that's nothing against MCW it is just the normal way of things.

For the future I think this is great for Milwaukee. MCW is the type of player that Kidd can mold into more of a true PG and with Giannis developing and Parker hopefully coming back strong it will be better to have that instead of more of a shoot-first PG in Knight. Also this might free up space for a couple years by not having to sign Knight to a long deal. It would have been a tough decision come the offseason.

And this is going to be one ridiculously big team, they are long and very good defensively. If only Sanders wasn't a pothead and all around idiot...good riddance to him, but they are already darn good defensively without him and adding a 6'6 PG...it could get scary.

Disappointed OKC ended up not going with the Lopez trade but if they did, then Ish Smith would have had to remain their back-up point guard and that's obviously a problem. So while, I'm not that high on Kanter, he should be decent enough and they got DJ Augustine as a back-up PG which is not too bad. Reggie Jackson just had to go otherwise they'd lose him for nothing in the summer and it was clear he was killing team chemistry.

For immediate results, I still would have went with Lopez but he is kinda overpaid at the moment. I'm a bit disappointed but I'm hoping Kanter comes good. He's got a pretty decent jumper and he's a better rebounder than Lopez so we'll see.

Brook Lopez's contract is one of the biggest jokes in professional sports history.

Well, JR Smith just had the dunk of the year today in his return to MSG. And, ironically, it was off of a backdoor cut read-and-react type play, the type that Phil Jackson would consider "high IQ" if Ron Harper did it. I hope Phil enjoyed seeing JR throw-down the double-clutch reverse.

I was wrong about JR. He, quite admirably, has fit right into his roll as a spot up shooter, hence a HUGE rise in efficiency. I'm not saying that's all he's doing because I'm sure you'll dig up some video where he ISOs and sinks in a jumper, but for the most part, that's his roll.

Yeah, but I thought he was going to be inconsequential? I guess not.

You must have also not heard about or seen how outstanding his passing has been - something which I am sure is shocking, given that only the Spurs Euro players pass well.

Broken_Shoelace said:
I would say he's "dominating" since it's Lebron and Kyrie dominating while JR plays his roll well. That's the difference. It's Lebron mainly dominating as he always does. JR is doing his job though.

This team could lose Kyrie for the season tomorrow and they would still keep winning like they are. The two most important players to have healthy are JR and LeBron. With Kyrie and LeBron together, we saw that they aren't very special in the first 35 games of the season.
Hey Mr Cali.. How bout them Bulls.. Drose and da Bulls put on a show.. Pau with his 14 straight double Double and what about the kid Snell, he was been lighting it up the past few weeks.. :clap

Btw.. Here is the numbers on your boy JR..J. Smith 31 3/10 1/5 4 4 4 8 :lolz:

Rose was great.....when he plays like that any team he is on will have a chance. LeBron, on the other hand, was very poor and had 8 turnovers. Yes, JR missed, and Irving didn't play very well either.

In other words, the Bulls played at their best possible level and the Cavs at their worst, in the game right before the All-Star break. And the Bulls won by a little over 10. Good for them. They can remember that game at their post-season banquet at the start of May.

Derrick Rose out for the season with a torn meniscus. This is officially the saddest case of a chronically injured athlete I've ever seen. Devastating. I know he wasn't playing well this season but still.

^ Haven't heard for sure that he is out for the season but given that the playoffs start in less than 2 months it is unlikely he will be back this year. It is really sad. We've seen plenty of promising careers get derailed by injuries but this is the worst I can remember.

It's a surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The same surgery he had in 2013, on the same knee. He and the Bulls even chose the procedure that will take longer for him to heal because apparently it is better on the long run and can elongate his career (which at the moment sounds doubtful). So he's certainly out for the season.

It's really a devastating injury because his confidence is got to be completely gone, finally I truly doubt he will ever be the same. DAMN :devil

He's done and so are the Bulls. They will blow up this team in the off-season and Thibs will be coaching somewhere else.
