Playing fast is an understatement.. those courts are lightning fast which really is a huge advantage for Roger..Sasha may be able to defeat Roger if he can cause some discomfort in Roger's fh.
I am not a Horticulturist but you have to play on the surface that you are given. Its all the same for every player .Grass is grass, fast , slower or whatever, its all the same and as a player you have to adjust. You dont hear Djoker or Nadals complaining that AO or the US open is too fast or slow. The real grass, the type Fed would've won 9-10 Wimbledon's on if they hadn't messed up their surface.
RBA played well but Sasha was a beast today.. I think Sasha is really gonna be a top ten player and is becoming a real threat on the best of 3 format.Bautista out, how he has lost the third set so badly? bah, he probably deflated, bah!

I am not gonna let you take me down that rabbit hole, you have done that very nicely with Moxie, El Dude and the others. However, the courts at AO played exceptionally fast and we know the results this year. I didn't hear Toni, Rafa or Carlos complain.Nadal and his uncle have complained about surfaces and speed on many occasions despite the fact that most have been slowed down. Those two certainly aren't going to complain about Wimbledon, they wouldn't have won anything there if the surface hadn't switched.
Roger was 2/12 on BPs today. Weren't we discussing this recently? And that was against Mayer, who's only ever taken one set off of him.
But why did they change the grass at Wimbledon? I heard that 90's grass was not durable, but to me it looks like the current grass is as beat up as the 90's grass by the end of the first week. The real grass, the type Fed would've won 9-10 Wimbledon's on if they hadn't messed up their surface.

They changed it because they wanted longer rallies. Made the bounce more true and also went with a heavier ball starting in 2006 or so.
"AO played faster than normal "The AO played faster than normal...once. USO has been slowed down too, it's well known who of the top guys has been hurt the most by surface changes...even with the fact he has had the greater career.

Be careful SS..Darth may have you exiled from Fed Fandom for making such an honest proclamation.Well, Roger never complained about the Wimbledon surface, we fans did, I guess, haha. And, that's because we just feel real and quick grass should be used at Wimbledon because that version of grass otherwise will just become irrelevant which it doesn't deserve to become. It is a nice surface and should be used at a major. If RG can be proper red clay then why shouldn't Wimbly be played on Halle-type grass? Yes, there's no room for complain if you think that every player competes on the same surface but there is room for complain in the sense that you are not doing justice to proper clay courts and proper grass courts at the same time like I said. That's the issue.
As of now, we have a fast surface at AO and a slower surface at USO. I don't see a problem with a fast surface. If we can have a bunch of masters on quick courts (Cincy, Shanghai) then why shouldn't a quick surface be used at a major? Quick hard court is a nice and original surface that should not only be preserved but made significant in the tennis calendar. You know, the overall slowing down of courts is detrimental to players belonging to the school of thought of aggressive tennis. And, the slowing down of almost all courts was done with such players still around. That was not fair.
