I hope Mayer takes out Pouille.

Two interesting matches for me are Nish/Khachanov. I'm following Karen pretty closely - think he's a future Top 10... and of course Fed/Zverev Snr.

Some very interesting matches tomorrow, I think. Someone said earlier in the thread that Queens usually has a more competitive field. Clearly not this year.

Not a fan of Pouille, @britbox? The poor French - they need someone to breakthrough and be an elite player. Pouille is like d'Artagnan - although in this case, he'd be the Fifth Musketeer (after the "New Musketeers" - Simon, Gasquet, Tsonga, Monfils). Chardy and Paire are the failed musketeers.

Pouille doesn't have many big weapons or wow factor maybe

I'd be happy for Pouille if he becomes the French #1. I'm getting tired of championing the rest of those Clermont-Ferrand Flounders.

Nishikori is out. Roger's draw looks a tad more doable now. A bit easier path to final. That said, no path is truly difficult for Roger on grass in this form.

Pouille ain't doing it for me squire, not a fan... I can watch Gasquet's backhand until the cows come home, and also like watching Tsonga. Monfils... sometimes...

Florian Mayer is such a pleasure to watch generally. His BH slice is pretty and all of his game is purely tactical. He is a usual customer at Halle and the defending champ this time. This has to be my favourite 500 tournament. My favourite Roger and everyone with a good grass court game is here generally. This year, Halle has been awesome. Roger's flawless start. Look at this young lad Rublev. He is hitting that forehand like crazy. We had Thiem and both the Zverev bros still in it. Nice event.

Fed played well overall. After 4-4 in the first set, Roger arrived. Before that he played terrible. But, after that, he hit good passing shots. Passes are what wins matches for Roger against Zverev. He was clutch when it really mattered. And that matters most for me. If that is happening, it means his game is not bad. And with every match, he will improve. Good going.

Roger looked slack, especially in the first set. He could not find his first serve, and many times he gave Zverev the chance to get into rallies on his serve. I hope he shakes off the rust soon.

With win against Mischa, Roger guaranteed himself (finally), a top four seeding at Wimbledon

Also, this guarantees that Fedal cannot happen at Wimby before finals.

However if they are ranked #2 and #3, or #2 and #4, Fedal could still meet in the semifinals. I'm assuming Andy will still be the top seed regardless.

ETA: never mind, I just read the latest posts in the Wimbledon Seeding thread.

Khachanov vs. Rublev is very exciting - two of the three (along with Medvedev) talented young Russians in the top 100.
