RE: Game of Thrones

Anyone see last night's episode yet?

SPOILER

It was all about the Wall. I will admit this is the first year I've enjoyed the Night's Watch plot and the episode was good and the battle scenes were excellent. For the most part not much has happened in that storyline aside from season 3 where it tracks Jon Snow with the wildlings.

That said I was still disappointed that there was nothing for King's Landing. Guess they wanted to torture us an extra week to see what happens next.

I'm really going to miss Jon Snow's firecrotch. Kind of figured that was going to happen but still sad, good character.

SPOILER (to some extent):

This season has easily been the best of the show so far. Every episode has really had a major event take place (in most cases, a character dying). This recent episode was no different. I loved the battle scenes.

Let's hope they end things with a bang in the season finale, because, as awesome as this show is, season finales in the past 3 years have been a touch lackluster compared to what happened leading up to them.

^ I've already read something that the producers said that this will easily be the best season finale so far and that the normal script was reversed where episode 9 was the main event. They also said it will be about 65 minutes so a good 15 minutes more than usual.

The season finale looks set to be a blockbuster. Lot's of storylines to tackle.

Apparently it's going to be 66 minutes long instead of the usual 51-53 minutes.

In most everyone's opinion I'd imagine. Nice body too when she managed to slip out of those wildling clothes in the cave.

RE: Game of Thrones

just watched the 9th episode...
SPOILER ALERT: why why did they kill the red-haired?!
If they kill Tyrion and Jon in the next episode, I'm telling you I quit watching it!

Well it was definitely the best finale they've had. Pretty crazy episode and a major game changer.

RE: Game of Thrones

^ Still in protest.

MAJOR SPOILER

Tywin and the Hound were 2 of my favorite characters. I guess the Hound's death was implied so there is still hope there. Tywin was a lesser character in the books compared to the show. I bet it was one of those things where they hated the fact that they must follow the story. The dynamic between Tywin and his children, especially Tyrion, was one of the best parts of the show. The only complaint I'd have is the books give a little more background as to why Tywin became what he was.

Spolier Alert

I agree.. I read somewhere about the storyline of Tywin and I think yesterday's episode was perfectly written and acted.. As for the Hound.. I am a man, I had a hard time watching that fight scene.. it was a brutal and intense as anything they had ever had on that show, imo. Jon Snow's chararcter is really the heart of the show for me, very compelling.

Spoiler

Pretty sure that fight didn't happen in the book. It was a great scene but I am a little annoyed they make Brienne out to be this super hero knight. Seems a bit out there that she could take the Hound who is considered one of the best fighters in Westeros.

And in the book the fight against Jaime after he had been captive for a year and when he was still in chains was a lot better than the show. In the book they make it clear that Brienne was barely holding on but Jaime tired out. This fight scene is similar to season 1 when Jaime fought Ned Stark. That fight also never happened in the book.

RE: Game of Thrones

The 10th episode blew my mind. I didn't read the book so I pretty much don't know what's happening next. And I really like that there is getting more "fantasy" with all those skeletons and giants:) and finally Tyrion got the revenge (i thought he would visit Cersei as well).
