Nah..you strike me as the type of chap that would fancy a night with Dany..Me, I would like to have Dany and Missandei both...I won't spoil it for BB , but I think Sir Davos was tryin to hit on Grey Worm's squeeze while he may be having his Waterloo at Castley Rock..

Oh bro there are many dames on that show I wouldn't mind spending a night with. Tough to pick between them. Top 3 are Dany, Missandei, and Sansa in some order. After that there is Melisandre and Cersei for those that are still alive

What did you guys think of the last episode?

I thought there were some fantastic scenes. I always loved Olenna. She's a very underrated character on the show. Went out with a bang. Really think the actress deserves a ton of credit for making her this memorable.

Things are moving at a much more rapid pace. I remember when it would take characters half a season to get from one place to another. Now, Jon decides to meet Dany and the very next episode, he's there. Not that I'm complaining. It's understandable, since they need to wrap things up, but with the show having moved at such a methodical pace throughout the seasons (in a very good way), all of a sudden it feels like a deviation from the structure. That's why I thought reducing the number of episodes for this season and the next is a potentially bad idea. The flipside of that of course is that when things really escalate (and they are starting to), it will be nothing but fireworks.

Cersei's revenge was incredible.

Bran's reunion with Sansa was emotionally unfulfilling, but it was that way by design, and makes a lot of sense. Something was missing for me though. It felt like that whole thing was a bit rushed, and almost half-assed. That's my only complaint about the season so far.

Now if I'm going to be extremely nit-picky, and it's the only way one could criticize this phenomenal show, I'll also say that Jon's meeting with Dany was a tad underwhelming. Nothing wrong with it at all. Just a bit under-cooked.

EDIT: Euron is a terrific villain. His lack of subtlety and outrageously over-the-top evilness, which verges on cartoonish, actually works perfectly. "A finger in the bum?" Ha. Love him.

I liked it. The Olenna scene at the end was excellent. Agree with broken, that she's really owned that role and carved out a great character on limited screen time.

They could easily have made 10 episodes, there is so much to pack in... but I do like that they are not labouring battle sequences just for the sake of it. There are only so many epic battle scenes... and I think we'll have one at Kings Landing and a second one vs the White Walkers. All the other battles don't need that level of focus.

Still, ten episodes would have been better.

I think Bran's meeting with Sansa was supposed to highlight that Bran isn't really Bran anymore - he's virtually a different character. She should meet up with Arya next episode which will be more fulfilling.

It was an outstanding episode even if the action wasn't really explosive. I agree that Lady Olenna was one hell of a character. If you compiled her scenes from all the seasons she probably would've had well less than 1 hour of air time yet she was still one of the standout characters on the show.

The last scene was great, definitely the right way for her to go out. I wonder if Jaime will tell Cersei. He always thought Tyrion was innocent but now he knows for sure. Maybe that will change how he views Tyrion even though he's on the other side.

Yes it is clear that certain things are being sped up but I don't think it's taking away much. The battles were meant to be fairly uneventful because the Lannisters were a step ahead and took Highgarden with little to no resistance. Having Jon arrive quickly to Dragonstone also makes more sense.

But curiously Arya did not make it back to Winterfell yet. The preview of next week shows her riding up on her horse with Winterfell at a distance. I think one of two things happens: she decides last second not to return home or she goes as "someone else" (wears a face). The encounter with her direwolf made her realize that she too is a lone wolf. She won't be in Winterfell for long if she goes there.

With Bran it seems that by embracing his role as the Three Eyed Raven he is mostly giving up his previous life. I think that explains his indifference at being reunited with Sansa. The other theory is that he can see the future and sees what Sansa turns into.

I totally predicted wrong on Cersei's revenge but it was terrific. Lena Headey just keeps doing better and better, awesome scenes from the wicked bitch.

Euron truly is something else. He is a clown but one to be taken serious, I love how he is tearing into Jaime and the latter can't really say anything back. I still think Euron might betray the Lannisters and there may be a showdown with him and Jaime at some point.

Dany and Tyrion have been outmanoeuvred totally. I think Dany heeds Olenna's last bit of advice and takes things upon herself to right the floundering ship.

I'm guessing at least one dragon gets killed this season. I don't think that anti-dragon artillery was shown an episode or two back for nothing. Seeing as we only have seven episodes, we'll be over the half way line after the next one, so think they will all be pretty explosive going forward.

Man there is a ton to say but I will wait. I didn't realize how attached I became to the well-being of some of these characters until tonight. Just brilliant even for GOT standards.

One of the best episode in the show's rich history. Loved every second. The character development on this show is nothing short of spectacular when you think back of the whole journey that got us here, and made us care of them so much.

I think everybody must have seen it by now... agreed, has to be one of the best ever.

The scene where the Dothraki came over the top followed by the dragon was as good as the Ride of the Rohirrim for the final battle in the Lord of the Rings.

I thought Jaime was a gonner... I think that was the character Darth was referring to. He lives to fight another day. I'm assuming it was Bronn who saved him at the death.

The gold got to Kings Landing before the attack, so the Iron Bank might still back Cersei... but the whole Lannister army, all the harvest stock from HighGarden has been wiped out.

Wonder if the dart that hit the dragon was poisoned?

I saw this episode on Friday night, there was a bootleg version knocking around on the web.

Totally agree about the battle. I think it may have been the best the show has had, that or Hardhome. I was thinking more that Bronn would get knocked off last week and chances are he still does. I can't see them realistically coming up with a situation where those two aren't taken hostage, no way they are swimming far enough where people can't find them. And Dany will want to kill Bronn for wounding the dragon. But yeah I've become attached to a lot of the characters, Jaime and Bronn are among them.

Kind of interesting watching it at first I thought Tyrion was saying "hurry" when he saw Jaime looking at the spear. And that would make it seem like he was betraying Dany and wanted Jaime to kill her. But he wasn't saying "hurry", I'm not sure what he was saying but clearly he realized Jaime was likely toast to charge Dany and the dragon. What an incredible finish.

I'm thinking the dragon survives, it is the biggest and most fierce dragon that she has (Drogon). If one of the dragons gets knocked off it is probably going to be one of the smaller ones in Kings Landing.

Funny you were talking about characters, because we're going to see some deaths over the next 3 weeks, for sure.

Jaime developed into one my favourite characters - quite a change from the character he was initially... I didn't want him to die... but when he was galloping towards Dany at the end, I would have picked Dany to survive... given the choice... both survived, for now! Bronn was always one of my favourite characters but I didn't care for much in this particular episode... he was too cynical, demeaning of Dickon Tarley, and tried to kill Dany, so his stock plummeted throughout the episode on the emotional front!

Apart from the battle, I liked Bran looking into Littlefingers eyes... "Chaos is a ladder" ---- i.e. I can see right through you... and Arya strutting her stuff with Brienne. Littlefinger's time must be marked with Bran and Arya in Winterfell.

Haha that's Bronn being Bronn. He's always joking around and clowning people. I also thought the sequence of him getting to the weapon was pretty awesome too. He is the type that they should have hitting the dragon instead of showing a random Lannister soldier doing it. And as for character development I think we saw some of that from Bronn here by saving Jaime's ass. Bronn is a mercenary and survivor at heart, and now he's probably dead meat unless he swims far away.

"Chaos is a ladder" was such a great line. In addition to how spectacular the episode was, it is subtle moments like these that make this show all the more terrific.

Also, anyone else smelled sexual tension between Jon and Dany? Jon must have a thing for caves.

Yes, definitely... Targaryens are supposed to be into marrying their own.... Jon doesn't know he's half-Targaryen yet though.

Yes agreed! I've actually been thinking that Jon Snow will end up being one of the 3 dragon riders along with Dany of course
