We can let Roger retire once your boy gets hit by a bus or goes skydiving without a parachute.
Indeed, given how deeply frustrated and grieving Fed would be in wake of such unthinkable and highly unlikely tragedy (when any person's life, not just a young tennis celebrity's life, is shattered), Fed might be left without motivation to play anymore. Remember how he cried recently saying that Rafa has made him the player he is today.

So, strictly speaking you might be correct in your predicament (although the likelihood of such event is less than you winning lotto and quitting this forum as a result), but the emotional motives surrounding said extremely unlikely event would be completely different than what I assume you are imagining.

I would not want that. But, it is not because I like Ralph any more than Darth does. It is also not because, I live on higher moral grounds (although I do). It is because, if such a thing happens, the Nadalites would put an asterisk on Fed's Goatness saying "who knows how many slams Ralph would have won if only he was not hit by a bus" (sort of like Graf's achivements getting tainted by the stabbing of Monica).

It was a joke. My way of saying Roger can retire once Rafa is finally done terrorizing the tour.

See, I told you so. It was a bad decision. :nono:
I thought Darth said that was incorrect, and that Roger himself said that they didn't hit together. In any case, it seems that the worse decision was playing him in Hopman Cup a few weeks earlier. Tsitsipas himself said that that helped him prepare for their AO match.

Roger said they hadn't hit. Who cares about playing at Hopman, it didn't affect anything. The way Roger played he was a layup for Tsitsipas.

My point was to GSM, not to you about Hopman Cup. He's trying to say that Roger exposed his game to the kid during a hit around, but it's actually Stefanos that says he got a bead on how to beat him a couple of weeks ago at HC. The match was pretty close...it could have been the difference.

Or Roger just sucked like he has for a year now. Or is the point that he isn't normally any good once you get used to playing him? Nah, I'd just say it isn't some miracle beating someone who only had a decent serve. The rest of Roger's game was an F. If he plays respectably against Tsitsipas next time it will be a relatively easy win.

Anyways if Fed isn't embarrassed by his new ranking he will sink to an even lower level and keep losing to nobodies.

I seem to have forgotten that you're not interested in context. All subtlety lost on you, when it comes to Roger. He lost, so he sucked. You have no interest in what Tsitsipas did, but it seems that GSM does.

There is nothing wrong in Fed playing Hopman cup. Hey, if somebody is playing in the circuit, you will face them sooner or later. There is no point in scheming to prevent facing someone.

But, inviting an up and coming player and hitting with them is a bad idea. They get close to you and as a result some aura is lost also, apart from the other player getting used to your style.

Right, but apparently he didn't invite him to hit with him. Somehow you keep ignoring that point.

You obviously did not read the article that I linked. Here are some quotes from it.

“His coach got in touch with us and he offered good training facilities and conditions before the Aussie swing and we accepted it,” Tsitsipas said.

“I’m hitting with the best and learning as much as I can from the experience.”

Right, but he's told you that Roger said they didn't hit together. I'll let you two battle it out, but you seem to think that if you read it, and it comes with quotation marks, it must be true.

Yes, but you give more credence to a mere statement without any link or quotes.

It's that, however much Darth drives me crazy, I trust that he knows about things Roger. You, in my experience, can be gullible to things just because you read them on the internet. But I'll let him try to prove it to you. I'm out on this one.
