What about a little reciprocal generosity?

OK, unlikely. :nono

Women know better than to ask me to reciprocate :snigger

Not sure that's something you should admit publicly, honey. But if you're in a committed relationship, my condolences to Mrs. Darth. If you're not, you'll never have a date again. :nono

If that's how you think of it, and that's all you thought I meant, I REALLY do feel sorry for Mrs. Darth. More imagination is required.

…now, back to the French Open….

With a comment like that, the last thing I would be was "worked up." ;)

So what do we think about the draw, which comes out on Friday? Who are the potential spoilers, and who do you NOT want to see in your favorite player's quarter or half? Why don't we talk about the rest of the players, for a bit.

Roger and Stan both figure to be big threats to Novak if that is the semi. Nole seems to be the only one to really bring out Roger's game on a consistent basis and the disdain is probably a big part of the reason for it. I still think Nole has a bigger chance of being upset than Rafa before the final.

This is amazingly true.. a bit of catch 22 for Roger, If he defeats Novak he takes out the biggest threat to Rafa's number 14. Can you believe some "other" Rafa fans actually root for Roger..

Yes, I can totally believe that. I love how people here act like it's some sort of unethical behavior to root for some player for self-serving reasons. If Novak Djokovic is the biggest threat to the player I root for, then I'll root for whoever he is playing against in hopes of him being sent out.

That's how most fans think. Except most won't admit it.

I'll admit it.

At least I actually like Roger and respect his game, so I don't feel like a total traitor when I root for him ;)

As a Fedal fan, I always root for Roger -- unless he's playing Rafa. If Roger wins, then so be it. I don't like it ('07 Wimbledon & '10 WTF final especially), but it's not the end of the world, either.

[AP - I hope you'll still talk to me, even though I've admitted I root for Roger. ;) ]

Hey Buddy.. I will always talk to you .. .. Its the smart move to root for Roger.. I wasnt talking negatively against anyone but its interesting how Rafa fans, Novak fans and Fed fans form allegiance but it was probably the same during the last golden era(Borg, Connors and McEnroe.. plus Lendl)

I've been thinking about spoilers, particularly in the first two rounds, before any of the seeds meet other seeds.

Who would, say, Federer and Novak not want to meet in the first two rounds? My first thought is mid-ranked Frenchmen, such as Chardy or Benneteau, who will get extra motivated in front of a home crowd. Roger has had problems with Benneteau before.

There are also some Spaniards in that range who know their way around a clay court, such as Granollers and GG Lopez. Would they trouble any of the top guys?

Any potential landmines anyone can think of in the first two rounds?

Part of me wants Tomic to get a pretty easy first few rounds because I do support him. The other part of me wants Tomic to have Nadal in R1 so he can lose 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 to teach him a lesson for dropping his ranking over the last year and not trying.

I remember Kyrgios defeated Sexynek last year in R1. He moves and plays pretty well on the dirt. If he has a good Aussie crowd behind him and he's feeling it, then I can see him causing a few upsets, for sure.

Well, if this year Rafa says his usual "I have to play my best, no, in order to have
even some chance of winning this match, no" , after drawing, say, Paul Henry Matthieu,
one of the wild card recipients, in the first round, perhaps we should not call him
disingenuous.

Poor, Santiago Giraldo after an excellent clay season misses out being seeded at RG.
He is the highest ranked unseeded player at RG (unless someone withdraws due to injuries
in addition to JMDP).

I don't know, does repeating over and over that Nadal will lose to "unnamed player" make it any more likely?
