Here are some dangerous floaters (unseeded players who may cause an upset or two).

1. Deliciano Lopez
2. Nick Kyrgios (at this time he is #1 among unseeded players)
3. Ivo Karlovic
4. Tsonga
5. Herbert
6. Opelka
7. Grigor

I wonder as to how come they gave a wild card to Marcos Baghdatis. The guy is neither British, nor young. He has not gone beyond 3R in Wimbledon in the last 10 years (although he had reached an SF and a QF before that). He was at #130 at the time of entry (six weeks ago) and now even worse than that. The last time he ever won a title of any kind was in 2010.

I think they should instead have given it to Dreddy Brown.

Some joke alright. Dreddy is 100 times more exciting to watch AND more likely to actually win a damn match at this stage or cause an upset.

Oh. Fronty..you don't give a good gotdame about dreddy but one thing only..don't worry even if he is included in the main draw .Rafa's grass court game is too tight to loose to Brown these days IMO but stranger things have happened

Wrong again, AP. I liked him well before he ever beat Nadal as he's simply great fun to watch. Would anyone here really prefer to watch Baghdatis at this stage of his career over Dreddy? Not likely.

Yeah..I am quite sure that you will break the family bank or give up your workout equipment to have box seats to watch a Dustin Brown match ..I have Never seen a post where you laud his tennis skills unless it was germane to a potential or actual encounter vs Nadal

He's technically more talented than 99% of the tour and even the top guys would have a lot of trouble pulling off many of his trick shots. It's not all about Nadal for us all here. Some of us actually like watching good tennis and Dreddy is excellent to watch on grass.

Front, there are guys(including the dreads) on the West and South side of Chicago that play with that same ole garbage trick shots and can execute them with the same results but doesn't have the fitness or overall defense that DB has. I have seen that same type of player in Texas, Florida and Georgia..Save your money Front and come watch a USTA tournament, it's free to watch

More weird decisions. Wimbledon gave the last wild-card to an unknown German guy named Dominik Kopfer. He is 25 years old and apparently won a grass challenger recently.

Anyway, this means it is official. Andy Murray is not playing singles at Wimbledon.

I will do a detailed post after I give some time for the market to digest today's results.

But, here is a quick update. Not much movement among the three contenders.

Sasha is still leading the pretenders, closely followed by Perseus (both having about 5% chnce) and then there is a three way tie between Raonic, Cilic and FAA (with each having about 3% chance).

By "recently" you mean today.
He won a Challenger in Ilkley which ended today. It means the door was open for all the participants in this event.

Was it a wild-card given to the winner of a play-off tourney? In other words does everybody knew beforehand that the
winner of this challenger will get a WC. If so, it is all fine. Otherwise, it is a poor decision.

^ I don't quite understand how it is that you (and Front) like Dreddy so much, with his trick shots, especially, and yet you (and I'm pretty sure Front has) call Monfils a "Clown," (#16 seed above) when he is one of the more entertaining players to watch on the tour.

Monfils is fun to watch sometimes. But, he often plays a weak passive baseline game which is very boring.

Very certainly, if I have to pick only one of them to watch, I will pick Dreddy on grass.

Fine, but I think it's a lot to admire one so much you make him a thread and call the other a clown. However, I do agree with you that Brown should have gotten a WC over Bagdhatis, FFS. I'm sure we could have come up with any number of better choices, tbh.

This is true. Brown plays an offensive style, most often serve and volleying.
Monfils is mainly a defender. Two very different styles.

One of Gael's main problem is he is not aggressive enough. Seriously, quite often he engages in defensive rallies instead of taking charge and finishing the point, even when there are chances for it.

As far as trick shots are concerned, Dreddy has lot more in his repertoire than Gael. Problem with Dreddy is that he is not consistent and probably not ambitious either.
