NadalFan is an example of extremely wishful worshipping, creating a large cognitive bias that overrides all facts contradicting the worshipping subject in his avatar name. I think we can even ignore God (in traditional sense) in this picture, because Nadal and nothing/no one else is NadalFan's "God". I postulate that if someone said, that "amazing & recordbreaking [sic] 2019 season" for Nadal required the precondition that NadalFan commit a violent crime or adultery as a "good omen", NadalFan would not hesitate to commit such mortal sin. The well-being of his idol is more important than that of his "God".
I know. He sometimes says things which I find outrageous & thinks too highly of himself in my opinion.

FACTOID: Since 2006, only members of Big Three have won AO. The same cannot be said of any other GS.

If not for the narrow win of Marat over Rog in 2005 SF, the above statement would read "since 2004".

Stand corrected. How could I forget 2014, especially considering the finalist involved?

Don’t be so hard on yourself, you obviously forgot because it was not a real victory as the opponent was very injured...

That's always the way; Nadal never loses, the opponent took advantage of an infirmity! If it isn't an injury, he's just plain tired or exhausted from the previous matches where he went the limit! Remember at the AO and USO when he ended up retiring "on the ropes" in those SF's! Nadal's rarely ever beaten by ANYONE according to some of his fans! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:

GSM and the rest of us won't forget that glorious victory. But I guess you forgot that your beautiful boy was being trashed before the injury. Anyways, Stan saved Melbourne that night.

Nadal was barely walking during that match and serving at 40 mph, but somehow the injury was imaginary. :cuckoo:

Meanwhile Federer has been past his prime since 2008 in his mid 20's, ironically as soon as Nadal started beating him in slam finals outside of clay. :spank2: :yesyes:

All excuses are legit when it comes to Federer losses. :help:

No one said his back injury was imaginary at the AO 2014. Clearly there was an issue there but people have correctly pointed out he was getting thumped before he hurt his back.

It was way too early in that match to know how it was going to turn out, though. Stan was in his first final of a Major and was not then, and still really not, anyone's reliable or mentally tough champion. Hell, he lost the 3rd set almost single-handedly. There is a solid chance he'd have lost to a healthy Nadal. It's not really one to crow over.

Who's crowing? A correction was made from someone who said no one outside the Big 3 has won the AO since 2005! :nono:

Down a set and a break I wouldn't say it was early. Basically Nadal was going to have to turn around that set right there and then.

Stan had just come off beating Novak, a far greater player on HC than Nadal, especially at AO. I'd say that tournament and what we saw from Stan the following few years indicates that he probably wasn't going to collapse on his own. Obviously the match wasn't over but it's still funny to see Rafa fans act like he for sure would've come back.

Again, you exaggerate what I say. I have never said that Rafa would have "for sure" come back, or even have won the match. You really are incapable of discussing it logically, though, so great is your need to believe that Stan would have kicked Nadal's ass anyway. Maybe he would have, but I'm pretty shocked that you can't admit it was a bit early in the match...2nd or 3rd game in the 2nd set when Rafa's back went. He's more than capable of a break back as you well know. I've said to you recently that the future doesn't prove the past, so what Stan went on to do had something to do with having already won a Major. And just because he beat Djokovic doesn't mean he had the head to beat Rafa on the heels of that. Djokovic beat Roger in USO SF in '10 and couldn't beat Rafa in the final, and both are better HC players than Rafa, so that doesn't tell you anything. And maybe you've forgotten that Roger lost at Wimbledon last year after having MPs to win in straights, and that upset was a far less likely one. All I've ever said is that it's a shame we couldn't get a proper final, and there is no way to say that Stan would have won it, in any case. Funny that Rafa fans can't even say that he might have won that match, if healthy, and yet you can say that Stan would have won it anyway.

I just took a quick look at AO odds. Novak is the overwhelming favorite. HIs chances are higher than that of Ralph, Roger and Sasha combined, but the field has higher chances than him. Here are the top dozen contenders for winning AO outright.

1. Novak 13/10 (43.47%)

HUGE Drop

2. Ralph 11/2 (15.38%)
3. Roger 13/2 (13.33%)
4. Sasha 10 (9.09%)

Large Drop

5. JMDP 25 (3.84%)
6. Cilic 27
7. Andy 30
8. Nick 30
9. Thiem 33
10. Khachanov 33
11. Kei 40
12. Stan 40 (2.43%)

Changes to the odds following today's news, Rafa slipped behind Roger and Andy dropped as well.

If Rafa won't be playing in Australia they might as well cancel the whole tournament. The start of the season is already extremely boring without Rafa. :sleep2::help: Let's all hope for the best and that Rafa will be 100% and grace us with the most epic tennis! :good:

Please speak for yourself! Few care if he's "down under" or not! I'd rather he be there so he can go down in flames as in the past! :lol3:

Well I hope you're getting serious help if you truly believe that! Fed's one of the most beloved players in the history of the game! I can do without his "awww shucks" persona, but most people seem to like him! As for Nadal saving tennis; he's killing it IMO! From day one, I couldn't stand that hideous stroke productions of his! It's just too much for what he gets out of it for the most part! He's breaking down in front of your eyes; "CAN'T YOU SEE IT?" He'd be in serious trouble in past generations due to how short his shots land most of the time! The attacking styles of the 70's and 80's would kick him out of the top 20 IMO! He's just lucky he's playing among a lot of gutless players afraid to approach the net because they have the worst technique in the history of the game for the most part!
