I wonder what Gael's times are for 60m and 100m dashes. He's got that Bolt body. I bet he is under 11 secs for 100m
Replying to myself with this info from wkipedia and now I am really curious as to how fast Gael runs the 100M !

"Monfils was considered an athletics prodigy at school and won the French under-13 and under-14 100m championships. It was only his love for tennis that stopped him going on to compete at a higher level. His coach is on record as saying that Monfils could have made the Olympic 100m final, such was his talent."

Some interesting stats from croatian tennis blogger.

All Novak's matches in which he saved match points and then won the match:

2005. Garcia Lopez 6
2007. Chela 2
2009. Serra 5
2009. Štepanek 3
2010. Kohlschreiber 3
2010. Federer 2
2011. Federer 2
2011. Berdych 1
2012. Tsonga 4
2012. Murray 5
2015. Gulbis 2
2017. Verdasco 5
2019. Del Potro 2
2019. Federer 2
2020. Monfils 3

So that is 47 match points converted to 15 victories. Nerves of steel.

Break for Novak in the 2nd, 4:2. Very strong performance, not comparable to yesterday.

Another break for Novak. Now serving for it in the 2nd.
Still the younger player are not at their level when it counts. They have to wait until they wear off more.

Impressive even w/ the late break! There was no doubt who was winning match! Perseus has plenty of time; more than Thiem at least!
Exactly, for thiem it’s the worst. The GOATS are still better than him and the nextgen is becoming better and better.
His window of opportunities is getting tighter.

Good homework. This would actually explain why Mofils will never win GS. People have "slow" and "fast" muscle fibres. He is used to play 2 sets and going down with time. Definately Monfils is fastest on short distance, but for 3-5 sets best are mix of muscle fibres, would say Đoković would be winner on some Half marathon or even Marathon.

And congrats to Djoker for 3rd title this year. Gael prepared him very well, Cicipas didn't have any chance.

p.S. I would also write, male marathoners (white) are best in 30+ years. While female are best older, almost 34-38. But females dont have so much play (2-3 sets)

Novak didn't lose an official match since the Davis Cup last year. Impressive. He keeps grinding for those weeks at #1. I think it's worth after all the effort he put in to get the #1 ranking back. Hard to see him flop again in both IW and Miami this year considering the current form.

I hope so my friend.
I want to thank all of these lovely people who celebrated loudly his double faults, first-serve misses and easy UFE in London, NY and ecpacially in Melbourne.
If this is the result, please keep on doing that.
