borna coric lost in the qualifiers on Saturday..a 3 setter that lasted 2hr 30mins nearly.

still..much better playing tough tennis and losing against blokes at 18 than hanging around the juniors getting easy wins and thinking he's the man..

I agree. And it seems like all young guys are just going to have to take the beating from the older, more experienced and more physical tennis players until they become one of them.;)

Gulbis loses again, what on earth is going on there?

I'm quite comfortable with Andy's draw until Roger in the semis, even though some people seem to be looking for an upset against Muller. It could well be tough though, last time they played (2012), Muller took the first set and made it to a tie break in the second before losing that and eventually getting bagelled in the third.

Looking forward to giving Roger and Youzhny a watch this afternoon :)

I just observed that Kohlschreiber pulled out, therefore Borna Coric gets in as a lucky loser

I hope Muzz can make a good tournament, he has enough game and he is very smart, he just needs to control his emotions and then he would be able to win more often

good news.

And he plays Jaziri, which means he has a good chance to move forward.

I haven't seen him play a match in quite a while, but all picture of him with that wild forehand swing can't be helping him! Anybody? Hard to believe he'll ever go far; not hungry! When the world is your oyster from birth, it's just hard for some to have true fire to succeed in a sport and take it to another level! :cover :dodgy: :nono

Chardy served for the first set at 5-4, but Berdych broke back and took the first set 7-6 (2). Neither player playing at a great level right now. Berdych has to be a bit relieved to get that set.

And Berdych wins 7-6 (2), 6-4. Not a great match but he did what he had to do. Berdych now faces No. 52 Simone Bolelli in the 2nd round.

Andy still with some nerves failed to serve out but will now have another chance after Muller DFs to give the break straight back.

Shame for Ward losing to Lopez. Sounds like he put up a good fight but ultimately didn't have the quality to take it any further, the story of his career on the ATP circuit really.

How many times does Murray lose his serve and then break back the very next game? It happens so often, if he gets broken, I half expect the break when the opponent steps up to serve. Sometimes it seems he can break at will.

Yes, a shame for Ward but he's been playing well recently, and fighting hard which is good to see. His Davis Cup win over Querrey last year was one of my favourite memories of last year.
