Didn't get to see other matches than the final but I'm thinking Roger is still the best player on the fastest surfaces of the tour, like Dubai, Cincy, and Shanghai.

Just woke up to see that Federer does it once again. It feels like dejavu. I honestly didn't think Djokovic would lose today but Federer seems to play well against him. Congratulations to the GOAT! :clap

The live ranking still in no danger of changing anytime soon; if at all for the rest of the season! Nole up by almost 4000; likewise with Roger in 2nd over Murray! The real race is between Andy and Rafa believe it or not! Nadal has some points to defend; losing Rio didn't help dropping him to 4th in the WORLD!

In fact, this week Nole increased his lead over Roger, because he gains 120 points (last year he lost in the SF) and Roger adds nothing.

Looks like your annual prediction of Fed going away may need to be put on ice for another year, herios old fruit.

The only prediction I made in the off season was that Roger wins no slams.

Didn't notice Kei was so close; took over 4th and Murray dropped to 5th in the world! It's going to be quite a race for 3rd where Rafa resurfaced with his SF win in BA! :dodgy:

Amazing (but not that surprising) the difference between this rivalry in slams compared to non-slams.
Djokovic has won 3 of the last 4 slam meetings with Federer.
But overall Federer has beaten Djokovic in straight sets THREE times in the last 12 months, while Djokovic's only wins over Federer was a 3rd set tie-breaker at Indian Wells and a 6-4 fifth set at Wimbledon.

Only? You take Dubai; I'll take Wimbledon! :lolz: :snicker :laydownlaughing

That's ok, I think 2014 Wimbledon was the first time I've ever wanted Djokovic to win a final - to stop Federer from reaching 18 slams :clap

I mentioned that in the ranking thread that it might happen, and it did happen. Kei could add more points tonight

Rankings aren't relevant to Nadal, because he's won 15 slam matches in a row over Djokovic/Federer/Murray

Do you make $hit up on the fly?

The last time Nadal lost to Djokovic in a slam was at the AO 2012. Since then, he's played Novak in slams 4 times (FO 2012, 2013, 2014 and US Open 2013), won them all so that's 4. He played Murray ONCE at the FO last year, so that's 5 and he played Federer at the AO 2014 so that's 6.

How on earth did you come up with 15 wins in a row?

...in fact he is not too far away from the third, so you maybe right in a way you don't expect to.

I am a fan of Kei's game, the only problem for Kei maintaining say a higher ranking is he seems still to be picking up injuries. He picked up a quad injury at the AO just a month ago,it showed in his match against Wawrinka.

Sorry to disappoint you but if Kei would reach the third it would mean that Muzz and Rafa would play pretty bad but for your concern they won't, as Roger who will last two or three more months in the second place :devil
By the way congrats to Fed and his fans, I haven't seen the match but I suppose that he has played well

Watched the match finally, and Roger is still the most consistently aggressive of the top players. He pushes and dictates more than the others do as a matter of style of play and execution. Obviously, the one glaring exception is a confident Rafa on clay or (lately) slow hards.

I just watched the match as well. The reason why Nole lost today is because I didn't watch it live.;)

Too bad he couldn't convert on any of the break points, especially one of the ones that he had as set points. He wins one of them and set #2, who knows what would happen in the 3rd.

Congratulations to Federer and his fans!

I hate it when Nole loses, but it didn't feel like he really gave it his all here and it is not a major so I am not really that upset.:) Wow Roger very complementary about Nole!:clap

You just get the feeling that Federer has another Slam in him still before he hangs it up.

If he can turn the tide versus Djokovic at the slams (where Djokovic has won 3 of their last 4), and of course avoid the other usual challengers.
I'm a bit surprised Federer has so much trouble at the slams, as it seemed like 30s Agassi was better at the slams than at the non-slams.
