Epic tennis my arse. How many breaks of serve in this muckfest? I stopped watching after set 1 'cos my food nearly came back up.

If you stopped watching, then how can you comment on it? :nono :p

What I saw up to then was enough  Imagine it was the same constant breaks of serve to reach the 2nd set TB.

Imagining it is different from seeing it....

I caught the end of the match, saw about 5 games, Venus attempted a comeback, she did win 3 games in a row to bring the score to 4-5 from 1-5 in the deciding set. But the pole was too high to climb! There were costly mistakes there at the end by Venus and an exhausted U-Rad won it.

It was a GREAT match!
Sometimes those breaks of serves make it more exciting...

It was a fantastic match! Incredible first-rounder. Hard-hitting, big fighting from both, and some really exciting points. Venus fought really hard to win the second, even though she was clearly suffering from something, which turns out to be the back, according to Tossip.

Well Venus might have to play a warm up and go far before Wimbledon so she can be seeded depending on what happens at RG

I thought it was a great match. Venus competed well, but incredible defensive skills from Urszula. Venus' serving has declined a lot recently though, probably as a result of the back problems she's been having.

Why is Venus playing the French if her back injury hasn't fully healed? She seriously should have sat out clay season and made a return on grass. This type of decision making regarding injuries is what doubles recovery time if you end up reinjuring yourself.

Serena/Vee did get a w/card into the doubles draw.It will be interesting to see how they fare,
It was obvious in Vee's single match today her back hasnt healed.Still she fought to the end

did anyone hear Medina Guerrigues call out these umpires for favoring pova with her screaming...that umpire Angell is messy, first she refused to get out of the chair then changes her mind and penalize Medina with a fake call...

Little surprise of the day Goerges - Kucova (Court 3) - Kucova has just won 75 60 over a frustrated Georges who couldn't get her play to flow - 56 UF where her forehand delivered 32 alone. Yeah well come again Julia - you can do it. Well done Kucova:clap

Remember all results will be updated on todays schedule on page 2.

Did the commentators just compare the Venus/Radwanska match to Berdych/Monfils? I went back and saw that Venus match and no comparison Berdych/Monfils match infinitely superior to that garbage. At least Berdych and Monfils were holding serve and playing at a high quality.

Först of all congratulations hoergren! I'm happy for you that Caroline made it through to R2 and that she could defeat Laura Robson in a convincing way 62, 63 - There is still hope for her :)

Then there is Julia Goerges (GER) [24] vs Zuzana Kucova (SVK) - in which Julia was bageled in the second set (67, 06). I've no idea who Zuzana is but it must have been a humongous upset for the #24 seed Julia. What the f**k happened to her?

Another thing which is worth to mention is that Melanie Oudin, the Maria Sharapova slayer from the USO 2009, has made it to R2 and there is a slight possibity for these 2 to finally meet again in R3. Interesting!!

Else there are no other matches which in my opinion are worth to mention. Maybe the S. Kuznetsova vs E. Makarova was a surprisingly easy victory for Svetta but that's all. All the top seeds (S. Williams, M. Sharapova, A. Radwanska, S Errani, N. Li, A.Kerber and C. Wozniacki) did what they were supposed to do so far. Tomorrow we'll see how S. Stosur (vs K. Date-Krumm) and V. Azarenka (vs E. Vesnina) can do in their opening matches but I'm not holding my breath for any unexpected surprises there
