What a wonderful match Ursula and Venus made for us - then it's fun to watch tennis. Just a shame that this is a 1st round match and that it's got to have a winner. Both players have delivered epic tennis until now because the match continues into third set after 76 67 but ended 64 to Ursula. COme on ladies you're wonderful:heart:

I can't even watch Venus matches anymore they are terrible.

Well, you're missing a classic right now. She just won a tiebreak I NEVER thought she would win. After losing the first four points in a row, Venus proceeded to win the next seven in a row. Incredible effort.

Epic tennis my arse. How many breaks of serve in this muckfest? I stopped watching after set 1 'cos my food nearly came back up.

If you stopped watching, then how can you comment on it? :nono :p

What I saw up to then was enough  Imagine it was the same constant breaks of serve to reach the 2nd set TB.

Imagining it is different from seeing it. You're sounding Cali-like: giving an analysis on something you haven't even seen.

I just feel disappointed in how bad Venus Williams is these days. Hard to watch past champions when they're a mere shadow of their former selves. That and the fact that she holds the record for the fastest WTA serve and lately serves so so slowly. I know she's had back issues on and off but she's supposedly ok now so why the wimpy serves? Painful to watch 122kmh first serves sink into the net like an amateur when we all know she's capable of so much better.

Venus in danger of being bounced from RG two years in a row by both Radwanska's.

So hoergren
Can I trust you to take responsibility for posting the results and schedule of play every day until at least the end of R4? - If yes then I won't bother about it anymore :)

I have always loved Venus, but I cannot watch her play any longer. It is just too painful! It's like watching the aging ball-player striking out too often or and aging boxer getting knocked down earlier and earlier with each match.

Congrats to Urszula! Well done to hang in there and pull that out, after so long (3 1/2 hours!), and after losing the second set tiebreak in such a dramatic fashion.

Completely agree with you tented this was an epic drama and those who missed that match - well that's their problem. I really liked what I saw.

I will do my best and hope forgiveness for what I may do wrong :) Posted the schedule for tomorrow already but only for women and no doubles. Look page 2 where the schedule is shown together with what is transmitted on TV.

I caught the end of the match, saw about 5 games, Venus attempted a comeback, she did win 3 games in a row to bring the score to 4-5 from 1-5 in the deciding set. But the pole was too high to climb! There were costly mistakes there at the end by Venus and an exhausted U-Rad won it.

It was a GREAT match!
Sometimes those breaks of serves make it more exciting...

Not sure about all the breaks of serve making things more exciting in WTA matches. Way I see it, it just means they're crap! Worst I've seen was Sharapova v Zakopalova at RG 2012 I believe. Whole match was like that. Neither of them could hold serve at all. Tons of DFs and embarrassing to watch. Made me a nice wad of cash though because it was happening the whole match 'cos they were both so utterly pathetic when serving.

doesnt matter Venus has a heavy resume...she has an back injury that is not healing and that causes her to struggle on serve..
Radwanska will never ever be as legendary as Venus Ebony Starr Williams....

That would explain her serving problems today. Shame...she fought really hard, even though it was clear she was suffering.
