Well the two Wimbledon matches were very competitive.....Delpo was up 2-1 in the second of the two. He could have very well won both. I assure you Nadal will remember his US Open encounters with Delpo. :)
Del Potro still lose these matches the fact that he could have won does not matter at all so get over it. Also he's beaten Federer twice at us open as well:)

Thank you for mentioning that Roland Garros match - a great memory indeed.

Yes, he was terrific at that tournament and throughout the summer. That was run was Medvedev-like.

I'm not sure about all the Masters titles (because, admittedly, that is very impressive on Murray's part). But I definitely think he could have done more damage in the Slams.
It really does not matter what del Potro could have done we don't live in what if land? In the real world Murray been a better player over the last 15 years that's just a fact.

People tend to forget that Murray has 3 slams + 2 Olympics gold. That's the equivalent of 5 slams. Del Potro doesn't come close, neither does Wawrinka.

No, people don't tend to forget that and 3 slams and 2 Olympic gold medals is equivalent to 3 slams and 2 Olympic gold medals.

Not in the era of the big four. All of them have said that the Olympics is up there with the slams if not higher. Obviously I wouldn’t use the Olympics when I’m comparing Murray to McEnroe, but when I’m comparing current players it’s as big as a slam. Sorry, I’ll take Nadal Federer Djokovic and Murray’s opinions over yours. :bye:

You're making an idiot of yourself yet again. It's a daily occurrence though so I guess today is no different. The Olympics features a field of only 64 players in singles, they play only 6 matches, best of 3 for 5 of the 6 matches and only best of 5 in the final. Obviously the glaring difference between the Olympics and a slam is the field is half the size and mickey mouse best of 3 till the final but even tournaments such as Indian Wells or Miami are much harder to win since they feature a field of 96 players and a much better quality of players. But keeping jerkin' your gerkin and telling yourself how amazing Nadal is and that Murray holds the equivalent of 5 slams lol.

And the WTF is only 8 players so therefore it’s less important than an Atp 250. You are truly a genius.:rolleyes:

The top 8 players in the world meaning every single match played is between the world's best unlike the Olympics which feature a plethora of donkeys in many rounds. Maybe you should think before approaching the keyboard.

Not really. At the WTF most players are tired, many of them don't like fast indoors anyways so their level is not their best and their ranking becomes irrelevant, and you can actually lose a match and still win the tournament. Meanwhile in regular tournaments like the Olympics or Masters 1000, you get to play the players who are playing the highest level that particular week regardless of their ranking and you can't afford having a bad day.

A player can be #5 or #8 for the year but in the last 2 months he hasn't won a match, therefore it doesn't mean that his ranking automatically means he's more difficult. Usually at the WTF a lot of players are tired or simply not at their best, the level of the matches is not always great. Tons of players also skip it or just want to get the season over with.

Having 64 players and getting in the QFs the best 8 out of those 64 based on current level is much better than putting only 8 players who might have gotten their ranking points during the year in different court conditions or some being tired or not at their best that particular week. Have a nice day and please continue watching tennis but don't embarrass yourself by talking about it.

Someone mentioned embarrassing themselves? The WTF is far from fast. It's pretty damn slow in fact. It's the low bounce that kills your beloved pos there 'cos his top spin is rendered utterly useless. Tons of players don't skip, they merely don't qualify for it and it's an honour to qualify for it and contend to win one of the biggest tournaments on the ATP circuit. Keep trying to diminish it though since your beloved has never won it.

Sorry but any player would rather win the Olympics which is up there with the slams over the WTF yet you diminish the Olympics all the time, so practice what you preach.

That's where you're completely wrong yet again. I'm not diminishing the Olympics. It's a nice thing to have a gold medal in singles but IT IS NOT on par with winning a slam and it's stupidity to claim otherwise.

Like I said in recent years it is up there with the slams and all the big four have confirmed it, so continue to believe what you want to believe. Djokovic just entered Tokyo to prepare for the Olympics and get the vibe of the city. Federer has often mentioned the Olympics when talking about retirement. Etc. It’s way above the WTF and up there with the slams.

It's nowhere near a slam and you damn well know it. You're just being a gimp as always because Federer doesn't have a gold medal in singles. There is way in hell you could compare winning 7 best of 5 matches to winning 5 best of 3 matches and a best of 5 final. None. Unless you're completely delusional but I guess that answers it.
