I am holding my decision on Petra until tomorrow, this is exactly where she was when she lost the final to Simo last year.
But I tell you, this Petra can be very dangerous going into the open, especially with a win here to build more confidence.

They are not going to talk about her early Cincy exit or even Montreal, all we will hear would be her Wimby crown and New Haven win, rightfully so in this "what have you done lately" tour.

All that said, I doubt Maggie will have any say in this tomorrow!

I am staying with my pick of Kvitova to win at New Haven.Kvitova has been impressive all week.I would be totally surprised if Maggie won,her overall game isn't strong enough to defeat Kvitova.

Why couldn't Petra play like this at USO? She would be a contender if she could retain her form. But no, she falls apart every time. I wonder whether training in hot, humid weather would help or hurt.

Needs to practice dealing w/ the wind as well. She doesn't normally deal w/ the elements well and that's why her record in Aus and N.A. is fairly poor. Her indoor record is substantial for a reason.

Good point. Thanks for the insight.

My Czech in-laws flew in last night and were happy to see Rosol win on the men's side and Petra on the women's side.
Congrats Petra!

Petra to David (who is Petra's coach)

'Thank you for everything,it's sometimes not easy with me,so thank you'

Petra is such a sweetie.

Side note: Ribarikova has a thigh injury picked up in her semi v. Giorgi, and she has to play in NY on Monday. I think. The hazards of playing the week before a Major.

Mag kept shaking her right leg during the match. Woz is now more likely to win the first round.

Congrats to Petra. I will root for her always, asthma or not.

Kvitova's win in New Haven gave her 470 ranking points, enough to leapfrog Ana Ivanovic and Eugenie Bouchard into 6th place in the Road to Singapore leaderboard.

Where Simona plays
I really hate that "road to Singapore" hype thing. Are all players supposed to live and breath through the whole year just for one event and one place? Who cares. Its just one event. Are all other events so meaningless?
The "road to xxx" thing is just so overrated. Many players will get there exhausted and/or injured anyway.
