I really hate that "road to Singapore" hype thing. Are all players supposed to live and breath through the whole year just for one event and one place? Who cares. Its just one event. Are all other events so meaningless?
The "road to xxx" thing is just so overrated. Many players will get there exhausted and/or injured anyway.

But it's the ROAD TO SINGAPORE! :celeb: :clap

It's also where Serena scored 1500 points last year, next to a slam, this is the most points one can score anywhere.

I totally disagree regarding the Road To Singapore being a over rated event at the end of the year.
To me it is a added bonus for players to do well in all tournaments in the year and to qualify. For any player to be in the elite 8 at the end of the year is a testament to how well they have been playing all year, that also applies to the top 8 doubles players as well.

Next to grandslams, this is the most important event out there. I don't know what to think
of your post. :puzzled

It is all one way traffic here from Kvitova she leads 3-0

OK, this means Kvitova will flame out early in USO.
She has never performed well in two tournaments in a row.:lolz:

I don't say she is going to perform well this time but actualy it's not true. When she won her first Wimbledon title she was a runner-up in Eastbourne. In 2011 she won Linz and than the WTA Championships. Last year she nearly lost to Serena in quarters in Doha and than she won Dubai. In 2012 she had very good 3 weeks in America when she won Montreal, was playing semis in Cinci and won New Haven.

In 2012, she overplayed. Three weeks in a row and then heads to the USO w/ no break in between is not smart scheduling and because of it, she was bounced in the early rounds of USO that year.

Well ... only her and her trainer know what is best for her preparation and what was the reason of loosing so early. Grandslams are longer and players usualy have a day off after a match which should be enough for regeneration. But every player is different and I don't have the inside information and the experience of these professionals. I'm always awed when I read some comments and analysis about what should a player do to perform better. How can you possibly know?

I don't have to know Hawkeye, but I can see w/ my eyes. The reality is no one here can really say for sure why she lost, but if you have asthma or some other medical condition that makes playing in N.A. difficult, you have to schedule yourself better. She won Canada, went deep in Cinci that year then won New Haven. That's 3 straight weeks of play w/ a couple of days off at the most. If she were to manage her way into the QF or SF of USO, that's 5 weeks in a row. I'm sorry, but you don't have to be an expert to know that's not a good idea.
