Too much tennis coupled with training for marathon for Caroline!

24 or not, four straight weeks of both is going to catch up to her.

So will Genie lose to young Serbian Bojana in the first round in this tourney and make it a hat-trick? :snigger

I doubt it, Bojana has a chronic issue with her arm and will probably need a surgery at the end of the year. This is probably an ideal match up for Bouchard. If she loses this then she is in much trouble...

I attended this event last year, albeit as a regular spectator.
It's fun to check out, one hour away from the big apple.

There is also a certain (College)campus feeling to it, since it's located at the Yale University sport complex.

On a different note, I saw both Nara and Bojana play in DC, both have a shot of beating their opponents. It would not surprise me if one did.

Genie on court at this moment warming to face Bojana. If she loses, this will complete
a hat-trick.

Genie also took the second by the same score, won the match 1 and 1
Samantha had issues against Nara, she had to rally in the first, lost the second set tie breaker and then took it 6-2

I was checking the stats of the match, just checking Caroline's serve %
Caroline hit 100% first serve in the last set! She didn't have to hit a second serve! What makes it more remarkable is she only did 51% in the second set but she didn't lose any second serve returns, won all 6 she faced.
For the match, she was 70%, that's her average. Caro has been averaging that all season.
Why couldn't she do something like that against Serena?

Couple of factors: the friendship is obvious and when she's focused, Serena can return anyone's serve for a winner.

Domi is having a tough time against Petko, lost the first set via a tie-breaker and is now about to lose the match. Petko is serving for it.
