His footwork and speed is more efficient than a so called "weapon"
Good point. But if he doesn't develop a "weapon," won't we think that he can't win the big prizes? David Ferrer has excellent footwork and speed, and amazing determination. And I would actually say his inside-out fh was a weapon. For all of that, and being as high as #4 in the world, he has 1 final at a Major and 1 MS 1000 title. It really does take weapons.

Good point about Ferrer. He has always been my second favorite player behind Federer. Is there a player named Fererer coming through?

Ferrer was #3 actually, and for many weeks, not just a few of them.
Let's talk about Hewitt. What were his weapons?

Genrrally speaking, counter punchers do not have the big weapons but that does not mean they cannot win big events. They did in the past and they will always do. They just work harder for it.

Speaking of Aussie "counter-punching," the most successful and beautiful had to be Evonne Goolagong Cawley! She kept tennis interesting when Chris Evert single-handedly tried to bore and kill the sport with her defensive, moonballing hocks in the 70's! :negative:

The young Aussie needs serious meat on the bones before he becomes a legit threat. I do like his attitude too but that alone can only carry someone so far.

I know his body is yet to change and develop, but look how skinny Djokovic always been , he never was a muscled guy.

Djoker is very toned, and is also 4 inches taller. De Minaur is plain undersized right now but obviously he has time.

After all the exposes on fitness, conditioning, and in general court health; NOLE should be at the top! He's not just working himself out into a wheelchair like Murray and Nadal; flexibility and tone more important than bulk and muscles! He's had some points & stretches on the court that would test many kids; much less someone of his age! He's amazing in this respect; more so than his potential GOAT'dom!

When I say multislam winner, I am not referring to the technicality of winning more than one slam. I am actually referring to something like winning 5+ Slams.

The counterpunchers can win a big event once in a while. But, they cannot do it often enough to become a multislam winner.
