Banshee in training, you don't say!Sakkari's scream reminds me of Danielle Collins lol!
Looks like we are heading to another t/break for the 2nd set
That Djokosmash was an epic fail.Good love service from Garcia, going to a t/break for the 2nd set, with Sakkari
Good turnaround from Sakkari winning 5 points in a row in the t/break
Sakkari with a great fhand down the line...SP on her serve
Wow a great FH from Garcia 6 all
Oh Garcia missed the easiest point in the rally, with the over head
Sakkari 6-7
Net cord helped Sakkari there and she wins the 2nd set 76 (6)
Onto a third set
Dont remind me, it was on her racket with MP ....fail, fail failThat Djokosmash was an epic fail.
Sakkari has lost her way, not match tough at all...she made the s/finals at the USO last yearGarcia is full of confidence and Goddess as the higher seed is the exact opposite. Not a good summer for the Greek. She has a mountain of points to defend in NY. She made the QF or SF last year, no?
The biggest draws in both the ATP and WTA combined EVER is The Williams sisters Federer and Rafa .These tournaments will miss Serena because she brings people to these events .Serena should have played Scone or Townsend
No love for the former No 1 player ATP at all ?The biggest draws in both the ATP and WTA combined EVER is The Williams sisters Federer and Rafa .
Non at all from the FansNo love for the former No 1 player ATP at all ?
Garcia is definitely on the come up. I think the Greek Goddess Maria aka Athena has the same issues as Mrs. Monfils, a grinder without any weapons to really stress her opponents. Halep and Wozy figured it out.3 MPs for Caroline Garcia defeating the Maria Sakkari the 4th seed, 76 (2) 67 (6) 61
Well done Caroline!
Selfishly, I don't know if I want to see Serena go out like this.Maybe she doesn't really care about how things finish up in Cincy. She WILL surely give a goodbye in NYC.
I doubt that Serena trained during the spring by the way she has been moving. Is there another tournament NEXT week, if so she needs a wildcard otherwise it is what it is and I don't enjoy saying that.Serena used to be able to come out of nowhere and play like the tennis goddess she is, but no more. Her timing is mostly off, and her footwork is sluggish. Tough pull for her first round, but I don't see the USO going better. I plan to get tickets for early rounds, if I want to see her play one more time.
See her while you can, because as you know, she’s booked her passage to the grey havens..Serena used to be able to come out of nowhere and play like the tennis goddess she is, but no more. After watching her last night, I think we’ll see her play one more time, in the first round of the USO.See her while you can, because as you know, she’s booked her passage to the grey havens..
She better hope she draws Venus and they can rig the jury one more timeAfter watching her last night, I think we’ll see her play one more time, in the first round of the USO.
