Ons Jabeur the No 5 seed was lucky to get away with a win in her previous match against WC Catherine McNally, she was defeated by Petra Kvitova 61 46 60

Well done Petra!

Iga Swiatek will be playing Madison Keys shortly,

Iga not happy with the 'lighter USO balls, the men's USO balls are heavier.
Iga said they are harder to control, last just a few games in good conditions.

M. Bouzkova WD due to injury ( right trunk injury), A.Riske gets a walkover to the next round, she will either play Muguruza or Rybakina.

Coco Gauff/Jess Pegula have withdrawn from the doubles match, which I feel is a wise decision.
Coco and Pegula must be tired from playing doubles and singles in Toronto.

Hey Tossip, the main reason they withdrew was because of Coco's ankle, she fell on it and had to retire in her singles match. I think it was a wise decision, seeing the USO is just around the corner.

I also feel the WTA has great depth, I mean we were blessed to watch Serena and Venus who changed the WTA in their play.Players had to get fitter for starters, when they arrived on the tour, also their aggressive play brought a whole new attitude to the WTA tour.
Nothing every stays stat in our game, I am excited to see some of the players develop their game, I feel the WTA in area's is in a good place.
WTA is absolutely moving on in a positive way.I am not putting down the present day players but it will take a lot of personalities to reach the heights that Hingis, Davenport, Dementieva,Henin,Clijsters,Pova,Serena and Venus reached. It was a mixture of talent and personality.I have yet to see players like Li Na or Jankovic, who were jokesters.

Yes it's a wise decision..I remember players saying the surface in Cincy can get very sticky because of the heat.

Well we cannot live in the past, those players you named were great, nothing stays stat in our game, I mean I still miss Graf, I saw her play live many times over the year, her fhand still remains firmly in my mind.Serena and Venus I will miss, I also have seen them play live.

I like the way Madison is playing against Iga at the moment, hopefully she can keep up her level of play all match
Where is her No 1 supporter AP? gone missing again lol!

I know Zhang is a tricky player though Kontaveit should have won the match in straight sets, going into a final set now.She really should not have let Tursnov go, her game has gone backwards since he parted.

Well done Madison winning the 1st set 63 over Iga, playing first strike tennis, now can you keep up this level of play to win the match?
Iga to me needs more time on the ball for her shots, these quick courts arent to her liking, just my observation
Madison was the 2019 Cinncy champion in 2019

Wow Madison is schooling Iga unleashing her own power and absorbing the power of Iga on court
Madison leads Iga 4-0 2nd set, winning the 1st set 6-3
Of course her No 1 supporter AP is missing in action and is missing Madison play the best tennis in sometime!

Oh well the No 2 seed Kontaveit defeated by S.Zhang, in 3 sets 26 64 64....she should have won in straight sets, though when it mattered most she went away meekly.

Madison seriously up 5-0 in the 2nd set, you served for the match twice and got broken?
Iga sent racquet for a re-string for a different tension in the match

Madison Keys gets the biggest win for sometime defeating the No 1 seed and player Iga Swiatek 63 64
Madison did get tight serving for the match twice, still got it done in the end. Madison has never beaten a No 1 player in her career, so this is a first!
Well Done Madison! ( also her No 1 supporter AP, who has been missing in action;)

Madison can play hardcourts tennis sometimes and sometimes she goes away.Today the serve worked well for her and Swaitek seems to be struggling since RG.Hopefully this win will help Keys at the Open.

She played really well, these courts suit her, got tight trying to serve out the match twice, still a great result for her
I dont think the quick courts suit Iga's game,, I feel she needs more time on the ball, for her shots, clay to me suits her game more

We are allowed to reminisce, just like a lot of fans wish for Graf and some players from that generation.I am a tennis fan first and will find players to cheer for like Coco, Beatriz, Pegula and this young Chinese player that reached the qtrs in Toronto.

Quite frankly the Top 5 in them womens game aren't playing like it right now,

Swiatek (1) Kontaveit (2) Sakkari (3) Badosa (4) and Jabeur (5) all defeated in Cinncy

Of course we are allowed to reminisce, I know people that think the current WTA is boring etc, personally I dont think it is boring, it has grreat depth, I also dont think it is fair for people to compare different tennis era's either, I mean we are talking different size racquets for starters, also I felt when the William sisters came on the tour, they changed the tour for the better, players started to get fitter and also started to play more aggressive in ways.

Tom Selleck plays Kudermetova later. Unfair advantage there.
