Agreed, I was surprised by that. Carlsen must not have liked what he saw as we know he likes to squeeze the position to the very end.

They have one of those blitz battles on chess.com today. Caruana is getting destroyed by Aronian. Fabiano isn't known for his blitz skills but this is far more lopsided than expected.

It's kind of interesting when there is such a huge difference between playing abilities between the different time controls. Clearly someone like Naka is quite a bit stronger at blitz than classical and with Caruana it's the opposite.
