Just checked the scores and I thought my eyes were deceiving me. But, not so, I agree with a lot of you, Serena needs to take a break, her schedule needs to be trimmed. Did not see the match as I was at work, so I appreciate all your comments that try to evaluate her defeat. On Eugenie, yes, she does need to get a higher percentage of her 1st serves in, but today she was at 67%, which is very acceptable.

Bouchard's placement was fine....though her served seemed 'wobbly' to me at times.She needs more strength to me on that first set.

She is still 5000 points ahead her nearest competitor and I don't believe that Li Na is playing this week (correct me if I am wrong). If she was taped up then maybe she did not to cause further injury. Congrats to Cepelova. Anytime you can beat the #1 player after she wins a title you know that you are doing something good!

Seriously, who thinks she didn't lose this on purpose. Not many points to be lost in comparison to Madrid and Rome. European clay season I a most important.

She already pulled out of a tourney earlier in the year, Doha, so she had to show up and play at least a match.

I'm glad Genie won her Match, but I don't see her going anywhere in Doubles. But I think trying Doubles could actually improve her over all tennis game. I wish there was some coverage of this Tournament somewhere!

I am looking forward to watching the match between Svitolina v Stephens tomorrow....
Hopefully we will see a marked improvement in Stephen's game

Not to be rude, but "dream on!" Venus had a real time of it yesterday, dropping a bagel before shakily finishing off some "nobody!" Typical; esp. on clay! She's wasting her time with no "backup or consistant game plan" in her advanced years! It's all or nothing which is "whack!" :huh: uzzled :nono :s

Again. Think logically. There's no guarantee Venus is winning another match this week. There are some talented seeded clay courters left she would need to get by. My $$ would be on JJ, Errani or Stosur to take the title.
