Very gutsy hold by Istomin. He's seeing the ball like a watermelon now.

Well, Nole avoided taking the road to Murrayville.

Istomin played well, credit to him.

That seems unkind and an overreach. Perhaps it's time to step away from the keyboard, dude. Good night!

Gonna miss being actually able to watch tennis mid week. Not usually up at close to 4am watching tennis! Back to work on Monday and been on holiday since July 24th. Gonna be tough going back to waking up at 5:30am when I've being going to bed after this a lot lately lol.

Yeah but mostly I find it hard to resist the temptation to check scores online and see results and when I know who won I don't usually watch the replay.

I do the same thing general front man. I check the sports scores and I check the stock market.

and I will watch a match on delayed basis if I know it was a good one. I will catch at least a set anyway.

tennis is in my blood. I watch when I can.

I am hoping he will wake up before it is too late.

You got your wish, Mastoor! He broke back.

This set will be over in 10-15 minutes, then Novak will storm through the third.

I hope he will win this because he needs more matches before Cinci that is very important for him, but even if he loses it is not the end of the world.

That's a good attitude, but your guy won, as we figured he would.

Congrats to Novak. That was a big effort.

I will be bereft of your attention, but I reckon I can live with it.

I haven't seen much today just a few Nole games (it was painful), a few Raonic - Delpo games including the net touch, which was ...an unfortunate decision by the umpire and and the jaw dropping end to Pospisil-Berdych match (last serving game by Vasek and the TB).
I am superthrilled by Vasek's performance, he has been developing in leaps and bounds, he served like Sampras out there!

This event has been full of surprises all in all and it's been great to see so many upsets, finally.
Yeah, and great call by Anti-pusher in calling the ambush of Muzza by Ernesto. It was bound he'll pull it off sooner or later.

Saw the Jerzy Nadal match. Totally brilliant imo, and classic Nadal (winning when being outplayed).

OK, I do think that there will come a time where Jerzy will be the worst possible nightmare matchup for Rafa, not unlike what Del Potro was a few years ago. He does things that makes Rafa really uncomfortable and for most of the match he had him on a shoestring. But of course, as usual Rafa won every single big point (or made JJ lose them) and that was good enough to win as it so often is.

Now, JJ fell into a lot of Rafa's cagey tricks and traps that really made it hard for him to win, and I think they are easily correctable by judicious coaching. I remember when Novak used to fall for some of that stuff too, and by simply removing the mental hiccups it produces a 4 or 5 point swing that really made the games much closer.
