Do you like Murray? I am just curious as I'd like to know who's coming from where.

Generally speaking yes. I don't care for his game (find it a bit boring), but I like him as a person a lot (much more than nadal or Federer). I am glad he has won majors now (and always thought he would), but was not happy he won them playing Novak (who I support).

I like upsets (except against my players), and I do like Gulbis's game and him in general, and I think him playing well is good for the sport, as he has a lot of talent and can shake things up amongst the top 20 or so players. Not that he is going to win a major or anything.

So in short, I am not an Andy hater.

But to be fair, while I think Gulbis did a great job at keeping Murray from playing at his best level, Murray just wasn't great today. It's his first tournament back after what I'm sure was a very exhausting post Wimbledon win trek, for all the interviews and everything else that comes with being the first Brit to win it in 77 years. So Gulbis may have gotten some help, but Murray still could have beaten him if Gulbis didn't play so well. So all credit to him. Great win for him. It will give him some much needed points seeing as he didn't even play here last year.

I agree with most of your post however I am pretty sure if Andy was at his best and so was Gulbis, Murray would win.

Yeah. I would agree. I do think Gulbis' insanely powerful shots today kept Murray from playing at a great level. But I don't think Murray came in playing great anyways. If Murray were playing at his best he would have neutralized those better and won. At the same time, I'm not going to rule out Gulbis winning even if Murray was at his best, assuming Gulbis plays the way he did today, or even better.

So proud of Gulbis today! Playing at a great level, that I've been waiting to see for so long. Having a great year. Annnnnddd I hate Murray. So that just makes it sweeter. An ace sealed it too! That was great. Truly awesome tennis from Gulbis today. Standing up to the top guys.

McToothy's looked a little rusty this whole tournament. Good on Gulbis for taking advantage!

Okay, thanks. And who are your players other than Nole? It's always nice to know. I like Gulbis quite a lot. Of course, Andy is my first and topmost favourite player.

I hope Pospisil can come back in the third. Because I do hate Berdych. And Pospisil is one of the younger guys that I mildly like. He's not one of my main guys. But I sort of like him. I certainly like him more than his compatriot Raonic.

I am a "fan" of four players: 1. Novak, Tied for 2nd: Mardy and Delpo, 3rd: JJ. These are the players that upset me when they lose.

I also like Brian Baker, Benneteau, all American players, and Almagro.

I like Fed's game a lot, but I can't stand the guy.

Wow. Once I saw Murray broke back in set 2 I thought it was all over so went upstairs for a bit and I see Gulbis won. Good stuff. Is this only his 2nd win over a top 4 opponent? Fed in Rome being the other?

Sounds like me; not an Andy hater, but his game is boring and he works too hard to beat players he should beat routinely! I do support Nole now since Fed is falling back in the pack! It's almost that time in his career, but I still feel he's the GOAT! Nadal won't get a sniff of that title since he does the same as Murray; makes life so difficult by playing so defensively! Neither will last as long as Federer who makes it all seem so easy!

Nole's my 2nd favourte. I like Delpo a lot. Don't care for JJ. And I agree on Fed.

I like most of the youngsters. I feel they need our support just as much I supported both Nole and Murray after they turned pro. These two have always been my favourite players since then.

Pops up an early break in the decider 2-1. I'm leaving work. Will catch the highlights when I get home.

I gotta tell ya, I think Fed's GOAT title is in trouble, from Nadal. I do think he stands quite a good chance of taking Fed's title. Seeing as he already has the h2h lead, I think he would basically just need to end up with more slams than Fed and I think he can do that because despite his knee problems, I think he's got at least 3 or four more years in him and if Fed can't add any more slams, which, at the moment it sort of looks like, Nadal just needs 6 to pass him. While I'm sure his lock on RG will be broken eventually, he IS capable of winning slams elsewhere, like Wimbledon. I don't want this to be true. And I think it is certainly possible Nadal doesn't pass Fed. But, if Nadal has more than 3 or 4 more years in him, like 6 or 7 of good years, then I think it's a foregone conclusion that he'll pass Fed. Because Fed doesn't look like he's going to be able to keep going much longer with these back problems. I hope I'm wrong. All I'm saying is I do think it's possible for Nadal to pass him.

Unreal, if DP doesn't make the final we are probably looking at Gulbis or Raonic.
