I guess Camelot isn't as high-rent as it used to be.

I am chilling with mom and dad in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I am at a casino on the mighty Mississippi River. We will have dinner shortly.

people love that stuff in south Louisiana .

my own personal favorite is shrimp scampi.

by the way you should start a cool recipe thread here and have general britbox sticky it.

something of international variety where people can post cool recipes from around the globe.

Rafa is done folks. He is spent force.

what he is doing out there is not clear. He does not need the money. Why damage your legacy or tarnish it to some extent.

you just can't win titles in this sport unless you are all in.

say hello to the man who one day will surpass 100 titles. why? because he is driven. he loves to compete and battle out there.

I have speculated that roger will play until he is 43. he may even play longer.

Roger will eventually go to the well once too often also.  He's done well to avoid severe injuries for the most part, but there are a lot of miles on those legs.  I don't think he'll play that long.  I reckon he'll be in the sport 3 more years tops.

I thought he was in a position to snag the u.s. open this year but I guess it was just not meant to be.

he still has the big game. it is just a little harder for him against the likes of Djokovic in the best of 5 sets formats.

he can still do some damage. he has to improve his ground game and he has to improve his return.

I think he is doing well to maintain his fitness which goes a long way to minimize injuries for him. his easy, smooth, flowing style of play also helps keep injuries at bay.

finally some combination of doubles and singles can also help him stay in the sport a long time. simply start cutting back on the singles activity and replacing it with some doubles activity.

I don't know why more players don't give doubles a go later in their career.  They need to take a look at Martina Hingis.

it is a good way to stay in the sport and stay competitive.

a 40 year old today can win a slam doubles title if he is fit enough and good enough.

I do not recommend doubles for those destined for all time greatness in singles.

it does not work for everybody. it worked for johnny mac who managed to win 77 singles titles and 77 doubles titles.

he used his doubles skills to his advantage in singles.

also the game has changed today. the war has to be waged from the backcourt. you cant pay your mortgage playing serve n volley or by playing too much at the forecourt.

you can only go in on your very own terms today and even then you entail great deal of risk of getting passed by a 90 MPH backhand or forehand.

I'm thinking more along the lines of when a top player doesn't feel they can compete week in week out on the gruelling Singles tour. They can still get some mileage out of their legs IF they still want to remain in the sport.
